MAC Sniffer (Digitalworldz Edition)

The green/red flag system was supposed to show if the mac was from inside or outside of your segment, but it wasn't working yet and all macs showed red flags as it is only a beta, that was one of the things to be done in the next release as i remember but then solster got food poisoning and was moving house so didn't get the next update done. So just try the macs with red flags cos so far i havent found any that conflict so the chances of getting a working mac are very high.

Well done Solster...:respect::respect::respect:

Any word on when the next update will be released?

Great program!

From some of the posts I take it that its not safe to use on a subbed modem? I remember some time back there was a thread that said it was safe to sniff for macs on a subbed modem using dhcp force because the modems received the data randomly anyway? Why is this any different? is it because it can sniff from other ubr's?

Possibly because it brute force's the same MAC making it not so random, but never knew you wasn't supposed to use this on a subbed.....

:)

mates, have read the thread from start to end and still I am not 100% clear if the macs found can be used in your own area or do they need to be traded?

heres wot i think is the deal

u put in a subbed 250 mac <--- important for this prog (i used one from 'round the corner from me) and u check brute force then click discover

voila .. an albeit short list of 250 macs (probs no point in doing it again with the same mac as u will just get the same results). 250 macs look more legit .. on 250 clones .. a tip: export the macs then edit in wot config goes with them

good fcuking work solster and the boys says I :)

ps. in answer to ur question I am using a mac generated by this sniffer from a subbed mac on my ubr

1 question can these be used or only traded ??

I have a number of 20 meg macs from different ubr's in my area. I put them through the mac sniffer and they got me other 20 meg macs that work smack on. I am using one of them now and have done since the macsniffer came out.
I've never been knocked off so think it must be a different ubr mac.

I'm still confused here..(nothing new there then) hehe

Can i sniff for macs using my cloned modem, and inputting my own subbed 250 mac addy?

Bob

Thanks for the reply...and the laugh :)
Much appreciated..

I'll give it a whirl and see what happens...

having problems with the sniffer........last week as soon as I entered a mac and ran the program the sniffer would pickup dozens of valid macs (most low ones) but now it only picks up 1 or 2 macs in 8 hrs??????????? firewall is off.

Ayone having a similiar problem??

I had trouble last week. Found loads but all 2 or 4 and nothing higher. Its encrypted in my area and its just a case of putting them all in and trying them all one by one.

I found a 20mb on a 00:90 mac so try them 1st.

1 or 2 in 8hrs. Are you using a good base mac? Sounds like you need to change. Run a scan and use the highest number you find, then run another scan with that one.

i recently read a doc (poss cisco) that suggested they were well ahead of us so they may now be preventing this from working now

nah they aint preventing this from working. I'm still getting some, surely if they were to stamp it out it wouldnt work at all....

mates, if the results (config files) is encrypted, what do you need to do to find the speed or actual config file details??????

Also I have changed my NIC address, would this affect how many macs I can sniff??????

Still letting the sniffer run overnight and it only find 1 or 2 low macs, dont know what I am doing wrong, before it used to find 10-20 macs within 10 mins

I know that there is already a lot of "thank you" posts done already here, but I would just like to say that this is a feckin seriously good bit of kit !

No fancy set up and very very easy to use, and trust me I needed to read the instructions for my football !! lol

Top notch gear....thank you

fantastic at finding macs, its the bees knees.

although it did stop working after i installed and uninstalled wingate, a quick winsock fix cleaned up my network connections, and fixed it.

i thought it might be of assistance to someone.
