Using your FTP client place the MAGIC.TAR in the "tmp" folder then disconnect.

To telnet, click START > RUN and type Telnet ip.address.of.dreambox then click OK.
A command window will appear, enter username root and password dreambox.

then copy n paste the code into the command window, then press enter!

You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

Job done, reboot

control panel
programs and features
turn windows features on or off
continue
tick telnet client
ok

telnet will work then.

never used dcc imho it isn't needed if you can telnet and ftp.

If you can't get in then you will need to use dreamup and a null modem.

Image is very good i may even convert from enigma permanently !

For my eyes the pictures definately better, and the sound is much improved. For what its worth component and scart work on my boxes.

Clocks went forward last night, the time is now 1 hour out.

I believe the following needs to be placed in /var/etc/init although not tried it yet.

init file atttached - extract and ftp to \var\etc on dreambox. Ensure file permissions stay at 755.

Hi guys,im currently on dw2.1 with dreambox 500 clone and im wanting to give this a try,was just wondering what i do first,the telenet thing and then flash image or other way about? also when ftp the magic.tar im guessing i have to unzip it first? iv got image and magic.tar in a folder on my comp where i keep all my dreambox stuff and when i unzip magic.tar it comes up var if i open that it comes up bin,k*ys,so do i just ftp the var after unzipping? hope thats not too confusing people and made sense,cheers
