Council tells schools to rearrange exams and cancel swimming for Ramadan

Looks like a remix of the previous post is rearing it's head again, are we heading for another racial RAMA LAMA DING DONG.

If people feel there is a need to make changes to exams and swimming during the period of RAMADAN the surely those who's religious beliefs follow this religious holiday, then re-arrange there exams etc and don't put other children who are preparing for there exams under the added pressure of having to rearrange there lives for the sake of others.
Surely it is easier to alter a small number of pupils needs than a whole years.

Still agree with the phrase " when in Rome "

So British muslims aren't British?

Who are we? Where did your antecedents come from?

Did you engage your brain before writing that nonsense?

Your not a british Muslims - Your either british or your not.

You may have a diffrence relgon to me - and therefor diffrence scafrices ect - but why should any of this inflused what i or anyone else does?

My point exactly!

Joe 1989 seems to have a problem with the concept.

Where do i have a problem with the concept - Your not a british muslam are you - Your british - Its got **** all to do with your reglon.

Now

If your relgon says you have to follow rules for a period of time - Why should this affect any of the other english, scottish, welsh or Irish, or if you like british as the collective name.

If i went to another country - I would expect them to make any changes to suit my relgion or belifes - If its not in there "living nature". Chaning british exam times and cancelling school activites for all the non-muslam relgions is not right.

joe my good man, i totally agree with you, but from your spelling and gramma are you sure they never moved your exam times at school and you just never went back and took them ........;)

but i do agree with you.

lol sorry! I do have lanuage issues and because i typed it quickely i had to go back and fix it all (Making it worse lol)

Im pritty sure most of the english exams in primary school is better than my spelling/grammer haha.

The fact you call yourself british brings a whole bunch of stereotype with it. Being British muslim is perfectly valid. It means you are british in the location you live and muslim in culture.

Unlike TheCheekyMunkey, I can forgive your spelling and grammar Joe, but your reply to me makes no sense at all.

I can only presume that my post went completely over your head. I'll try and avoid rhetorical questions when I reply to you in future.

Who are we? dumb question

the fact that you call yourself anything brings a whole lot of stereotypes with it, a statement like yours needs examples to follow it. i would think that typically calling yourself british means you come from one place, britain which is typically england ireland, wales and scotland and has no bearing on what religion you follow, aw cmon chaps you dont hear people saying i`m british hindu, british sikh, british mormon, british anything, other than what, british muslim? im not saying its wrong but fook me why seperate your selves if your a muslim and born in britain, to me its just another way of wanting to seperate them from us.

being muslims got fook all to do with britain, and britains got fook all to do with being muslim otherwise next time you fill out any sort of application form you`ll have another 300 ticks boxs to choose from.

Actually I do call myself british hindu all the time. There has been a blending of cultures much in the same way as muslim culture has been blended. Of course there a few extremists who have no intention of integrating but 99.99% of us are rational people and recognise we are not in our 'homeland' which btw was in itself heavily influenced by western countries invading in the last couple of centries.

Yes I greatly value my culture and its something that I will try and pass on to my kids but sadly there is little doubt they will be less hindu then I am in much the same way that I am less Hindu then my parents. I am fortunate that most of the people I meet in day to day life are open minded about cultural diversity and the benefits to the country so little by little life is easier for my kids then it was for me.

You do realise Britain has been invaded so many times that what does being British actually mean and the large influx of ex-British empire in the 60's and 70's was by Britain's own request. And now with the influx of easten europeans, again by Britain joining the EU.

Anyway, enough rambling. Guess which type of person the press likes to report on, the 99.99% of sensible people or 0.01% of extremists ?? As I said in my first post, go and actually check with your schools as to how much of this BS has actually been implemented.

I'd just like to point out that the 2nd post isn't a rhetorical question btw.
If it doesn't click 'why?' straight away then think about it for a while!

In case it went completely over your head Nara...

Joe's post seems like perfect sense to me. I think it depends if you view it through your 'blinkered' viewpoint or not. ;)

So are you saying that because we have been invaded so many times in the past and that the government AGAINST the wishes of the the majority of the people who live in this country, decided that we should be a multicultural society makes it ok ?. No other country in the world would put up with this. Allready countries such as France and Belgium are starting to pass new laws to protect their way of life.

Other countries such as Germany /Spain /Holland / Uk etc etc are ( according to polls ) Having worries about where their countries are heading. At the end of the day it's all about respect.

Our women don't go to certain countries and sunbathe topless on the beaches Why ?
Because we respect their culture.
So when others come to the countries mentioned above and just do as they please then you start to think Where is the respect ?

The government, or local council in a majority of cases, has been voted in by the public based on their policies thus are representing them. If you have issues then complain, protest, talk to your councillor, once there are enough people complaining then guidelines will be changes, that is how democracy works ?

You know why people are not complaining, because as I have mentioned several times that this is media sensationalism and nobody is actually implementing this crap. We now have several pages of comments about a topic that is in reality a non-issue.

cmon chaps you dont hear people saying i`m british hindu, british sikh, british mormon, british anything, other than what, british muslim?

My Aussie mates call me a Pommy Indian, is that racialist? Am I a victim? I'm so confused now.

It could be worse Munks you could be a sweaty sock where your natural skin colour is blue and we deep fry salad.

Since when ?

as you have singled out a minority group so complain about, which is not a politically correct thing to do, and as the minority group in question is normally of an ethnic origin, it then becomes a racial attack

PC gone nuts
