Commando 14.6 DM500 Release

i only run it when i see threads with channel changes...

maybe once a fortnight would do

well my sort of reasoning behind this was if i run it everyday then if channels do change frequency then at least they will be upto date the following day, as these boxes arent mine and are with ppl who havnt got a clue other than how to change the channel lol, maybe ill change it to a week then... only asking loadsa questions as this is gunna be my main backup for another 7 or 8 boxes so it needs to be right, and iv never used this image before so its all new to me!

If you want my 2 cents mate then I would set the bouquet update to run everyday, then I would set epg to run at boot and run a reboot timer for after the bouquet update one,

This means that your bouquets are current and the reboot clears any gremlins and then downloads a nice fresh epg :)

thats what i do each morning 5.30am, and you only need to set 2 timers to do this

yeah i took wiz's advice and done the same, and the box successfully updated itself this morning, time to make my backup i think!

Following on from a previous post regarding using dreamup to make a backup. You can make a backup using the "services" menu. menu/ok/blue/red. You still need to transfer it from the tmp directory though. Flashing in the similar way with last button being green instead of red.

just popped this image on blackbox 500s very nice quick and responive exellent for uk
added CCcam 213 and mgcamnd 1.38 folloowed the read me and worked first time well impressed the read me makes it idiot proof good idea
may have a fiddle with oscam who knows
big thanks to coders and developers who give up there time for this in my opinion allthough being a bit more technical to set up better than any enigma1 image i have tried
maybe one day there might be commando hd for the 800 and 800se
anyway great image

a shame the peeps dont read it instead of making posts on how to do this, how do i do that

Im sorry but your comment goes against everything this forum stands for, if nobody asked questions and helped eachother this forum, or pretty much any other would not exist, obviously were not all perfect like you eh! ;)

i never said i was perfect

im just sayin ... over the years team commando been making images they always
include a read me file, telling you how to do this and that
and a lot of time the people d/load a commando image and dont bother to read the read me file
and start askin questions on how to do this and that, theres no need for that if they read the file
in the first place

Just thought i'd say thanks to those involved in producing this, I've always used Pli up to now but thought I'd give Commando a go and I'm glad I did.
I have the image working on an internal share but I'm having a problem sharing externally. I'm guessing it must be a router problem some how because I'm using the exact same set up and equipment to test both but for some reason the external share will not unlock pay channels.
As for the image, it's excellent. If I had one wish it would be to be able to remove unwanted channels from the bouquets, I've read the docs and understand the reason why but if I had the choice I'd have far fewer channels in the EPG. That said, it's a massive improvement on what I was using. Thanks again to those involved.

Autobouqets is already user configurable to remove unwanted channels from bouquets that have been set to show

delete "1" "Sumo TV"
delete "1" "OHTV"

to remove these two unwanted channels in radiotimes autobouqet mode:
add delete commands to bottom of /var/tuxbox/config/scan.radtiotimes

to remove these unwanted channels in satellite autobouqet mode:
add delete commands to bottom of /var/tuxbox/config/scan.satelllite

to disable "Other" bouquet that these two channels would default to:
Main Menu > Settings > Extended Settings > Zapit > Bouquet Others = off
