Should fire my assistant manager, useless turd kept playing the lowest rated midfielder in my squad, a player i bought to make profit on, and each game he has been total shite, was like playing arsenal with 10 men. No wonder lost 6-0 on aggregate

started off really well was top and in the final of league cup since i lost that ive struggled and was nearly league 2 material different formations hasnt worked but its a little bit of fun so lets bring it on for next season

the thing i never understand about this game is.
who gets to pick there team in what order?
its a bit unfare if someone gets man u and real or rangers or any other big team
and the rest of the people are left with the dross.?

i think alot of people would be up for this scotty if there was afair system.

so the suggestion is its unfair and rigged? have to say starting to get a little bit fed up with this truth be told, everyone who is playing it with exception of 1 has in the main enjoyed it, we go into the final week of the season with 5 teams out of 12 still in with a shout of winning the league, one of which is celtic who in all honesty of the 24 teams have the worst squad along with rangers in the game.
to get the game up and running i had to pay £20 myself to setup the league, ask permission if i could run it on DW, message all mods saying it will be ran correctly no silly football arguements, do the admin of it trying to drum up interest, get 15 or so of the 24 teams managed in season 1, and now because im in with a shout of winning the league its unfair, and i should have taken last pick? of the 12 teams in div 1 i picked 6th, why on earth is it fair that since i tried to introduce something to the sports section that would encourage banter introduce some people to the game, which to be honest i think its been very good for digital worldz its been along with the rangers and man utd thread the most viewed/most posts and unlike other threads generally been good banter with no aggro from start to finish, yet in the last week 2 folk have came out with slight digs. now im not saying im looking for any thanks but surely digs arent really required? would it be fair if i introduce northampton to the league and ill manage them?

I also had the suggestion before the league was setup that it would only be english teams and we could exclude the top 4 but then man city for example would have an advantage, its very difficult to get right but again in my other game world im everton and im doing very with a squad now worth over £350m!

at the end of the day im happy to scrap the league for season 2 if its going to be an ongoing issue, but i hope like myself and scott (who got arsenal relegated with a very good squad and budget and has about 3 years experience of the game) have enjoyed it and think its worthwhile, if you dont want to manage a team then is there really a need to question wether its fair or not?

You asked the same question on page 1 of this thread which was answered and it wasn't only your post I replied to. You made it clear at the start this wasn't for you I offered you Chelsea or man city on page 2 you weren't interested. You then ask same question again 2 months later

Basically teams were chosen on a first come first serve basis.
Players with the dross teams as you put it may on paper have a disadvantage, but with clever dealings in transfer market can end up with a squad that challenges other teams very well.
The more the league goes on the harder it is for a new player to get started, because lots of quality players have been snapped up by existing teams, but the challenge of building a competitive squad is half the fun, i spent hours looking around for established quality stars and making transfer deals, then spending more time researching young prospects for future either to keep for my squad of make money out of

Colins rant was aimed at me. Why he couldnt of just spoken to me I dont know. I have said from the begining that this game is flawed. And that certain teams have an unfair advantage. It would seem that several players have played this game before, and have an integeral knowledge of how the game works, and whats best to beat teams. Perhaps if this info was shared then it would be fairer.

Also Colin, I do think you should of picked last. You have experience of the game, and I find it difficult that you have picked Barcelona. Probably the best squad in the world, and a massive transfer budget. You have bid all season on Torres, whereas I can just about afford someone from brazillian league by offering 3 players and some cash. I have had a budget of 6 million all season.

How can a team play very defensive, have a man sent off and beat me 0-4 away from home? With 5 shots! Where is the sense in that?

I have already stated numerous times, that I am happy to play again, and happy to play in division 2. However I do think that the game is flawed, and I do think you should of picked last. But thats just my opinion Colin, there is no need to attack JTH, hes just asking questions. You could of spoken to me directly, rather than throwing your toys out like normal. I have already told you privately what I thought, but you still have a go in public.

If you need help with tactics or anything to do with SM you should look in this section of the soccermanager forums its extremely helpful to anyone as people often ask "whats best formation for this team" or anything alike.

also just for info season 2 will start roughly 2 weeks after season 1 finishes,
another point with it coming up to the holidays remember you can put it into holiday mode that way you dont have to log in once every 2 weeks..

if your not renewing for season 2 let me know as soon as possible as we have some folk interested in teams etc.. to give them as much notice as possible

and lastly can we maybe get into the habbit of using this thread purely for a bit of chat/banter and not moaning, about who has what team etc.. everyone has a choice they can either play or not no one is forced.

ps good luck to scottymo who despite going down to div 2 has managed to get to a european final granted just the micky mouse european final ;-) but still the final.. well done.
