Thought this was interesting....

This guy claims he can unlock everything for less then $25 (canadian) - All Rom 10 and All Rom 11's including the dreaded A82 and BOC..

What do you think guys?

Is he using software or special hardware to unclock them?

Hello.

I can unlock ROM10 cards that are at RevA82 and lower
for all European providers, including NTL, C&W, and
TeleWest, and North American providers at A23/A81 and
lower. I can also unlock all ROM11 @ B0C and B8A and
lower. In order to be unlocked, these cards MUST have
a VALID ATR.


CHARITY
=======

Most of the proceeds received from card unlocking
services go to my local Children's Hospital
neurosurgery department. In 2004, I was able to raise
$1,000 for the kids! My goal for 2005 is $2,000.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed in one way or
another.


PRICE
=====

ROM10
-----
For < 10 cards, I charge $25 CAD (Canadian) each, plus
shipping.
For 10 cards to 24 cards, I charge $20 CAD each, plus
shipping.
For 25 cards or more, I charge $15 CAD each, plus
shipping.

ROM11
-----
For ANY quantity, I charge $25 CAD (Canadian) each,
plus shipping.
ROM11 take much longer than ROM10, so that's why
there's no volume discount.


NOTE: I no longer accept card swaps for unlocking.


RETURN SHIPPING
===============

Return shipping is via Canada Post First Class mail
unless other arrangements are made. First Class is
unregistered and uninsured. I am not responsible for
lost or stolen cards, but it hasn't happened yet. I
charge $1 CAD per card for return shipping to
Canada/USA, and $2 CAD per card for return shipping
overseas.

If you prefer to have return shipping via REGISTERED
(signature / tracking / regular delivery) or
XpressPost (signature / tracking / fast delivery), or
if you have a large volume of cards, please e-mail me
for the shipping price and details. For Canada/USA,
the price is quite reasonable. For International,
registered costs about $20 CAD, and XpressPost costs
about $50 CAD.

First class delivery time to the USA is about 7
business days, and for the UK and other countries it's
about 10 business days.

For small orders, I will unlock the cards on the SAME
day that I receive them. For large orders, it will
take 2 to 3 days to unlock them all.


PAYMENT

I accept Interac (Canada only, major bank) or PayPal.
All payments must be made in CANADIAN funds.

For PayPal and Interac, use this e-mail address:

You must pay in advance. After I receive your payment,
I will e-mail you the shipping address. I will also
e-mail you when I receive the card(s) and when I send
them back to you. I give very good service! I have
never had a card that I could not unlock, but if for
some reason I cannot unlock one, I will of course
refund your money for that card.

willing to unlock all of them then 5 for me and 5 for him
neverseen then
may have done it to a few pplk on diff forums seen him on there

its a load of bo*locks like davidh says he rips you gets your money and resells cards rom11boc locked on ebay theres loads of people who have been bent over so be careful

Rom 10 A82 unlocking service

Hi folks , not so clever at soldering, so used this guy before christmas to unlock a card.
Cant fault him!!Done and dusted with the card returned in just under 2 weeks!!

I agree with many people on this forum,a great many work very hard to provide as many sollutions to problems ,FREE for all!! : grim :

It went against principles for someone to do work for me!( i do hope dosh is going to the worthy cause), but the cost of getting a card sorted and ruining a box , i am affraid pure ecconomics took over!!!

if unlocking these cards will this mean i can get the ird and bk from it. if so its a lot cheaper to do this than pay a trader £60 to read the atmel. (local trader reads em in under 2hours)

The guy is legit. Do a little bit of research on him and you will see.
If you look up his ebay account you can see he was buying Rev A82 cards months ago then reselling them as unlocked Rev A16 cards
If you’re a newbie who has a box with no current jtag method its worth considering as its cheaper than buying a TSOP programmer.
Although personally I would say he could keep the card and just email me the BK/IRD as there’s less risk that way.

slickvguy is the guy

Here is a site cardcoders where slickvguy hangs out. He is a coder and can do rom 10 A82's and Rom 11 0C's. He has done some a82's for me and I flipped him some Rom 11 0C's (ntl's) for him to work on in December and he can open them.
Who am I, I am another Canadian from the other side of the country where slickvguy is from. I go under deacig on ebay and have been buying cards off of ebay from the UKsince april/may 2004. I have posted at unlocker forums and allforums from the uk on ntl/telewest analogue cable. deanocig is a user name I also go under in satellite and cable forms. The above 2 sites are places you can go and do some reading on Nagra 1 cards. Our nagra 1 cards are used for satellite on usa dishnetwork and canada bev (bell). I see guys in the uk have had chips removed to read the boxkeys and you guys are starting to get into jtagging.
You can find me posting mostly on the above link dishnewbies. Time to put all our resources together for the good of everybody. Some other sites have not received slickvguy very well but I have found him to be honorable and is a big hitter for satellite hacking in NA. Read some posts at cardcorders, every NA site knows of him. I understand it is difficult to be a member here and I appreciate the staff of this site for letting me join.
