First I would like to point out I am a huge boxing fan but last night I made the grave mistake of stopping up last night to watch Daniel Dubois take on Trevor Bryan for the WBA "regular" heavyweight title which means ;-

"A Regular champion is a primary champion only if Super, Undisputed and Unified is vacant. A Unified champion is a primary champion only if Super is vacant. Not every Regular or Unified champion gets promoted to Super if it is vacant. Not every Regular champion gets to fight for the vacant Super title."

Utter load of bullocks

First the build up started with a 90 odd year old Don King giving a 30 minute press conference rambling that showed he's not all there. The fight venue looked like my old school sports hall 3/4 empty, Casino Miami holds 6500 but I bet there was about 650 there tops.
Then Trevor Bryan ? who the F**K is or was he ?. He's been fighting for 11 years and not once have I ever heard his name mentioned.

Bryan looked like a rabbit in the headlights fully aware that he was gonna get ko'ed at some point but was more about how it was gonna happen. Dubois went over there for no reason what so ever. There at least 10 UK fighters he could have fought over here and beat but he's listened to advisors who gave him the wrong advise.

No disrespect to CH4 but if you are a so called top 10 UK heavyweight then you should not be on CH4 fighting a back street bum no ones heard of in a make shift sports hall in America. With the time difference he fought Bryan at 7pm USA so I take it no under card and hardly prime time boxing.

For me it was an utter disgrace and embarrassing and one of the main reasons why UFC is light years ahead of boxing. Putting a 90 year old promoter in charge who's certainly not all there mentally was a disgrace and another cross against boxing v UFC.

I'm sorry but with advice and an opponent and promotion like that Daniel Dubois is destined to fail. If he thinks he got anything out of that he needs to give his head a wobble. Had I have been 20 year younger I would have given Bryan a run for his money. Dubois proud Dad was at the ringside but any decent Dad would have stopped his son from boarding the plane and making an utter t*t of himself.
Dubois was wrongly advised when taking on an unbeaten Joe Joyce and again last night, from one extreme to another.

The only person who got anything out of that shambolic event was Don (I look dead) King and CH4 from advertising mid rounds

WBA have always been embarrassing. they often have super, normal, interim and in recess champions. How the heck anyone can have 4 possible champions is beyond me. They say on a regular basis that they are going to be getting rid of them and just have one but still nothing has come of it.

Agree, it's these money making schemes driven by each organisation that's killing boxing.
So many belts and divisions to own a world title now days means nothing. This is were the UFC win, one governing body, one contract, no disputes.

When I say I'm a huge boxing fan the huge bit is slowly diminishing. Even Tyson Fury's adding to the annoying circus merry go round mentioning an MMA fight. No disrespecting he would get his head ripping off at MMA.

Retired?, I had to chuckle when I heard that. I'm in no doubt he will fight the winner of the AJ v Usyk fight but again rather than saying it out loud we have to sit and wait in doubt.

But back to the Dubois fight, honestly that has to go down in my books as one of the strangest and worse promotional fights I have ever witness and Dubois chose the money root at the wrong time in his career.

What little credibility he had with me has gone for good and I hope Joyce does him again the clown

while the UFC may seem great for the spectator im not sure if i could be an elite MMA fighter or a elite boxer would i choose MMA as many of the fighters are getting paid pennies for fighting while the UFC are making a fortune. I for one would want to be paid fairly when im getting punched in the face for a living.
