Ok , ive now found out i have an SCPH 30003 R which is a v5/v6 ps2..

can you please tell me where i can get a cheap chip pref one that dont need to be soldered in?? or do i have to solder at least 1 wire????

also i need to be able to buy it in the u.k not usa plz

Not tried either of these myself but dms4 has been around a while so you shouldnt have any problems with it.

Cant beat a chip for ease of use though, might be a bit more work to fit and cost a bit more but once its done its way better. Just put in the game and away you go

True, a mod chip is easier to use, but it must be pointed out that it is illegal in the UK to fit a mod chip to any console.

Ok it might be illegal but so is downloading/copying the games if you dont own them so cant see what diference it really makes myself.

Your right, but whilst most people know that its illegal to copy games. Not all will know its illegal to install a mod chip, especially as it hasn't always been that way.
