Hello all, I got one of these off eBay earlier this year whilst I was suffering from the worst case of flu I have ever encountered. Although it appears ridiculous it has apparently been on the go for centuries, in the likes of India.

Anyway, it feels like your drowning for the first few attempts, till you get the hang of the breathing side of things, then it is over before you know it.

Lots of videos on youtube of peeps using them; with varying degrees of success :)

Cured my flu within days of getting it...well it was either that or the antibiotics I got of the doc :)

Best of luck, Chris.

Excellent solution! I use the saline water in a similar way. Along with controlled breathing in a steam room (followed by coughing and blowing your nose) you should be much much better.

Tabletop steam solutions do not work.

I had this problem for years and used a few of the sprays mentioned on here, but they were only ever a short term solution.
Went to see a specialist and was prepared to have an operation to cure the problem.
Specialist said he could operate but the blockage was likely to come back, but reccomened that I went to the doctors and asked for a prescription for "Nasonex" that was 18 months ago.
As soon as I start to block I have a squirt of this up my nose and it goes away.

Defo recommended.

have you tried smelling salts, they are strong as fook and will clear anything in sight, if you sniff to hard you will make your eyes water for ages and it hurts your nose for a bi so be careful.

You tried olbas oil?

When my hayfever hits me bad and im blocked up I put some drops of olbas oil on a tissue and up my nose it goes lol

works a charm every time but burns the nose of you so its a double edged sword lol

A friend of mine suggests burning cotton wool and inhaling the smoke via your nose.

not very pleasant to do but apparently works wonders.....

(for the record, the friend is not me!) haha

get some of this and put in a bowl with some hot water and breath it in,you can even just sniff it from the bottle

and some of these chewing gums the black ones will take your breath away lol but will help during the day along with some of the other remedies already posted

Agreed here ;)

Also put a few drops of the Olbas Oil round the neck of your shirt/jumper to give constant relief ;) And top up as required.

:)

For blocked noses the king of drops/sprays is otrivine. Comes in spray and drops. It takes about 10 secs to work and WILL clear ALL blocked noses for about 8 hours after each dose. However, when you stop taking it the nose then blocks very badly for about an hour afterwards. Its over the counter from pharmacy. Comes in kid dose too.
