anyone know how to get old analogue channels unscrambled??

Yes well that and you ripped the wire off :Laugh:

no sorry mate i couldnt resist that
i fixed it now anyway and yes your probably right, it wouldnt have worked for you in your area either untill the MAL chip had the right code on, so sorry about that.

Do you need a analogue cable pack i have one zipped up with all sorts of goodies in side if you wish for me to upload it i can np :)

should be ok in the cable downloads section holly.

ps. u got pm

105 posts not bad hey im proud of myself : shocked2 :drink:

Ok Peeps, i got problems. I need to make pcbs for the resetter and tuner.

problem is, i havent got much experience in making pcbs. What i have got in fron of me is this:

Maplin code/name

jp55 - Sinle side etch board
n73aa - conductive pen
fl17t - stripboard
n76bg - large precision knife
FL25C - spot face cutter

I could use the conductive pen to make tracks but that would be shite and i would have to drill precise holes.

I have attached pictures of what kind of pcbs i need. The illustration is of the resetter and i didnt have an ilustration of the tuner so i have included a picture of the back.

Please help. thanks ;)

ps. i have included two other pictures coz i didnt know what they are used for, they may prove useful as they came with the folder for the resetter.

asif, you have been a busy boy at this haven't you.

Just how many ppl are waiting to get thier old anolog box's done where you are? lol

did you still want that resetter sent to you when i get it back from riksta? . . .

he he dont bite my hand off for it tho' alright :Laugh:

and im going to need your address mate so PM me ok.

lol, clive u crack me up m8. I would like it sent. First we gotta work out what components are on that baby. U said u will do that when u get it back. erm, also try to read what is on each chip if u can from the resetter. Like u said the tuner is empty and just pulls frequencies.

Cheers

ok my reseter is two wires in a printer port lead its only two wires and also you need tcinit.exe to reset box i have done quite a few ok here is little diaq

25 pin connector

2 bits of wire

2 croc clips

Is this the device u r talking about, its from the link u gave me yesterday.

yep it is the one np to make and resets box to 02 then you can fit chip and then you have all you wish

best chip i find is 12c509 and use super 509 auto mapping chip hex

Hey back again!! I just dont give up do i.

Now i have many tuts for making these resetters, but none of them are aimed at the sa8602 versions.

If anyone has got a resetter, would u be kind enuff to just post wot size resistors and capacitors u have on there. remember i fink that there is one capacitor under the pic chip. check under all chips and u can also look on maplins website for a resistor guide i think. I fink that the caps have their size writted on them.

I really need this so that i can make a makeshift prototype. I'm still sticking to my word that i will make a tutorial for building a resetter.

By the way great tutorial "holly". I know u put a lot of effort into that. Its a shame i couldnt use it for my box but i know loads of people must have enuff use from that. well done m8.

Thanks guys

This Board Will Only Work On Sa8602v1

is this no good then ?

EEPROMV3 SA DECODER INTERNAL TEST BOARD
=========================================
PROGRAM SETTINGS :-
+++++++++++++++++++

XT_OSC, WDT_OFF, TIMER_OFF

PARTS:-
+++++++

93c66 EEPROM ----> Farnell 111-326
16F84-04P PIC ---> Farnell 789-586
10WAY SKT -------> Farnell 672-348
4Mhz RESONATOR --> Farnell 295-346
680R RESISTOR ---> Farnell 513-982
LED -------------> Farnell 636-990
PIN HEADER ------> Farnell 511-705
JUMPER SKT ------> Farnell 510-944

THE CIRCUIT BOARD YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE MADE OR ETCH YOURSELF USING
PRESS N PEEL ETC.

REFER TO THE EEPROMV3 DIAGRAM FOR CONNECTION DETAILS.

THIS BOARD WILL ONLY WORK ON SA8602V1 DECODERS AS FAR AS I KNOW.

MADE TO TRY AND PUT AN END TO ECM PROBLEMS.

CONNECTION DETAILS:-
+++++++++++++++++++++

UNPLUG THE DECODERS PPV 11 WAY CONNECTOR.

PLUG THE TEST BOARD INTO THE CONNECTOR WITH PIN 1 NEAREST THE FRONT OF
THE BOX.

CONNECT FLY LEAD FROM PIN 1 OF THE 16F84 TO PIN 1 OF THE DECODERS
EEPROM OR MASTER AS I WILL REFER TO IT FROM NOW ON.

LINK SETTINGS:-
+++++++++++++++

LINK 1 GOES TO PIN 12.
LINK 2 GOES TO PIN 13.

SHORT LINK 1
************

ON POWER UP THE LED WILL FLASH ONCE, THE BOARD WILL THEN READ FROM THE
MASTER EEPROM AND WRITE THE ENTIRE CONTENTS TO THE SLAVE EEPROM.

AFTER THE READ/WRITE IS COMPLETE THE LED WILL STAY ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECS

USE THIS FEATURE TO READ THE DEFAULT/ORIGINAL CODE BEFORE ANY
MODIFICATION IS DONE TO THE DECODERS EEPROM.
YOU CAN USE THIS CODE LATER TO DEFAULT THE DECODER BACK TO EXACTLY AS
IT WAS BEFORE TEST CHIP FITTING.

SHORT LINK 2
************

ON POWER UP THE LED WILL FLASH TWICE, THE BOARD WILL THEN ACT EXACTLY
AS THE OLD MAGIC.HEX CODE.

ON COMPLETION, THE LED WILL STAY ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECS.

THIS CODE OVERWRITES VARIOUS ADDRESSES OF THE EEPROM, I SUGGEST YOU
ONLY USE THIS MODE AFTER YOU HAVE STORED THE EEPROM CONTENTS AS ABOVE.
OTHERWISE YOUR DECODER CANNOT BE DEFAULTED EXACTLY AS IT WAS BY THIS
TEST BOARD.

NO LINKS SHORTED
****************

ON POWER UP THE LED WILL FLASH FOUR TIMES, THE BOARD WILL THEN READ THE
DATA STORED ON IT'S OWN SLAVE EEPROM AND WRITE THIS TO THE MASTER
EEPROM, THEN THE VARIOUS ADDRESSES ARE OVERWRITTEN IN THE MASTER EEPROM
TO AUTHORISE THE DECODER.

ON COMPLETION, THE LED WILL STAY ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECS.

*********
*WARNING*
*********

OBVIOUSLY IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE CONTENT'S OF YOUR MASTER EEPROM, THEN
YOU WILL CORRUPT YOUR DECODER.
SO ONLY USE THIS MODE AFTER YOU HAVE STORED THE DATA AS DESCRIBED IN
SHORT LINK 1.

BOTH LINKS SHORTED
******************

ON POWER UP THE LED WILL FLASH THREE TIMES, THE BOARD WILL THEN COPY
THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF THE SLAVE EEPROM TO THE MASTER EEPROM.

ON COMPLETION, THE LED WILL STAY ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECS.

THIS IS INTENDED TO REVERT YOUR DECODER BACK TO IT'S ORIGINAL DEFAULT
CONDITION.

AGAIN, IF YOUR ORIGINAL MASTER EEPROM DATA IS NOT STORED IN THE SLAVE
EEPROM, THEN THIS OPERATION WILL CORRUPT YOUR DECODER.

RECOMENDED ORDER USE
*********************

1. FIT LINK 1 AND POWER UP, WAIT FOR LED TO STAY ON.
2. POWER DOWN AND REMOVE LINK.
3. POWER UP AND ALL CHANNELS SHOULD AUTHORISE.

THE TEST BOARD WILL NOT RESET CORRUPTED OR ECM'D DECODERS AS A RULE,
BUT IT IS CAPABLE OF CLONING A VALID DECODER.

HERE'S WHAT TO DO, FIRST FIND AN OPERATIONAL DECODER.

SIMPLY FIT THE BOARD TO A VALID OPERATIONAL DECODER, WITH LINK 1 FITTED
AFTER THE MASTER (VALID) EEPROM HAS BEEN READ, REMOVE THE TEST BOARD
AND PUT INTO THE DECODER TO BE CLONED.
FIT BOTH LINKS AND POWER UP THE DECODER, YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE AN EXACT
COPY OF THE ORIGINAL DECODER, GREAT!!

FINAL NOTE
**********

USE THIS CODE AS DESCRIBED ABOVE, BECAUSE OF THE DESTRUCTIVE OPTIONS
OF THE TEST MODULE MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOURE DOING AND READ THE
INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

YOU USE THIS TEST DEVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK, THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ANY
DAMAGE ETC IS STRICTLY YOURS.

IF IN DOUBT, DON'T USE IT.

thanks holly. i have that one. as it says, it is for the 8602 v1 box. now thats where i have my doubts about thie. can anyone confirm that this is also the same resetter for the 8602 v2 box. v2 is the one with the black loop at the back.

also it is a resetter chip that u gotta work by turning off the box every week or so. its not the one that u reset once and stick in the tuner chip do pull all frequencies.

Thanks peeps.

If u lot have got any guiodes that can help with the 8602 V2 box or any guide on how to make a resetter and tuner chip (pic18f84a&mal f 93c66=resetter--pic16f84=tuner), could u plz pm me so that i can pm u my email address to send it to.

Thanks

i'm still waiting for riksta to send my resetter back mate so untill that happens i'm out of the game mate.
unless you want me to send you a tuner chip?
i still have one of them left but i would rather send you the pair 'cause they work in conjunction with each other and you will need the resetter to start with.
'
Attached are pictures i took of my resetter and tuner and the files i read from the tuner chip, i hope they help you asif.
'
btw. the resetter is the one with the red led on and the tuner is the one without it ok.

clive. any news on ur resetter. if u have got it back have u had a chance to look at it to identify the size of the components. colour of the resistors will be good, and the numbers ofn the capacitors will be good. The single yellow band thing at the bottom by the plug seems weird. also there is a cap under on of the chips. look if there isnt one under all of them. i will make it as soon as i can get the right components. i will make it using point to point wiring. I.e. Just connect the wires emulating the tracks on the pcb. Then improve my pcb skills to make a real one.

Cheers guys.

If anyone has a resetter or tuner, then ur input will be appreciated.

Sorry mate i've been busy trying to get ird and bk from a currupted file and trying to get my old jdm proggy to hackle once i've read the mal chip i'll send you the resetter and tuner chip ok just PM me your address. i'm going to have another go tommorrow i'm getting nowhere tonight, a case of PC ignorance from tierdness now i think.
