Anyone got the Chinese VU+ Solo2

Even if I update it to V4, would I be able to use any of the firmwares that are in the download section of this website? as the firmware on the vu hd site are old and cannot use the feeds on the vix firmares.

Yes after updating V4 u can download images modified for Lonrisun V4 boxes from the download section .

I don't believe it's entirely known for sure to be honest.

I did slightly change the way I put together the v4 uploads but out of all those that downloaded it, only a odd few had problems (who had recently did the v4 flash update). It's believed to be because v4 didn't flash correctly but it's not confirmed.

Do you have a solo2 SE (should say SE on front) and as asked by Aliraza, did you purchase this box before or after the release of v4 update (august 2014)?

Hi Ketmp, I have the Vu+ solo2 mini (not SE) which takes the vu solo2 images from the VU-HD site. Im sure that I purchased it sometime before Aug 2014, but by then I had already flashed all the images on the vuhd site without issues, and did settle for the vix appolo 29 image. The box already had a V2 sticker on the back.

If so, could you (using an ftp client) try and determine if your drivers are in the following location:-

"/lib/modules/3.13.5/extra"

There should be about 4/5 files ending with ".ko".

I need to double check that they are specifically in the "3.13.5" folder and not another folder.

In the lib/modules folder the is a folder numbered 3.3.8-2.0 in that folder there's a folder called extra that contain:

I havent updated to version 4 yet.

I downloaded the apollo 29 image from the vu hd site, but on the box it shows build 12. I remember someone mentioning build 12 is ver 29 from that vuhd site.

Those drivers are for a older different kernel so I can't use them as I was hoping to use these v2 drivers in current vix images if they were same kernel as current images use.

was out of my mind to look under vu+ clone section, since i have a solo 2 se lonrisun

That's pretty awesome. My dad was looking to pick one up cheap a while back but there was a lot of negativity about them then. Might have to look again. Where did you pick your one up?

I had a clone vu+ solo2, perfect copy of the original if you judge by aperiance. But can only take software from a dedicated site with clone safe images. Had black hole on it untill about 8 months after I bought it, I pressed the update button in the menu... Dead in 3 days. Time bomb. So now I paid double what I paid for the clone and got the original. So clones are great if you don't do a mistake like mine.

My Lonrison clone solo2 is still going, did have to replace the flash chip after the time bomb but apart from that I've never really had a problem with it. Was a real arse to get it updated to v4 and had to replace the RS232 chip before the update would take but for me it's all part of playing around. I've been running Apollo 165 on it for a good few months now and might update to Hades at some point.

Got a lonrison i think aswell. Bought it when they just available. Came with bkackhole and halloween with pumpkin boot logo. Guys can i update this to v4 without having to replace the chip etc?
