Phone Unlocking 8210 as a modem

Hi...I hope one of you can help.

I have an 8210e on Orange and would like to use it as a fax/data modem. I have spoken to Orange and Nokia and both tell me it isnt possible. I have got the impression from reading some of the previous posts that this may not be correct.

Any help would be much appreciated.

PS Has anyone got any search tips for GSM hacking?

It is possible to use mobiles as modems with the correct cables and software but they are very slow and only worth using to check your email as Mickie D has mentioned somewhere before
if you are only going to use it for that invest in a WAP it's probably going to be cheaper
