that is nice vry nice indeed but actually i was looking for a lcd rather then plasma :)

For the money you're willing to spend, you would get a far better plasma. The same spec on an lcd would cost you much more!

I would recommend these for starters...

- Panasonic TX32LXD600 £1k
- Samsung LE32R74BD £699
- TOSHIBA 32WLT66 for £606.60p

Or if you're looking for larger screen...

- Sony KDL-40W2000U £1.5k
I've heard the Goodmans GTVL42W15HD is an excellent tv about the £1,250 mark.

Would however suggest if you're going over 40" go for plasma rather than LCD and you get a pucker one for under a grand. But if you seriously want a good lcd over 40" then you're going to have to spend a little bit more.

ok thanks very helpfull i really do like lcd tv's but i geuss for the money i wanna spend id b better off with a plasma the size i been looking at is 37" for a lcd cos of the money i wanna spend but for plasma id like 40"/42" but im gonna keep looking for a deal :)

I've seen this in the shop & it looks real good.

The best LCD is made by Samsung (at the moment)

The best Plasma is - Pioneer - but very expensive.

take a trip outside of the envelope and think about a good LCD projector.
You can have a 10 x 6 foot or bigger screen, feed the audio through your hi-fi and you have a home cinema and the biggest XP desktop in the street.

all for around 600 quid

it doesn't have to be that big, most can be set up to be almost any (usable) size but they really start to impress at around 8x4 feet

real luxury - but buy a quiet one as the fan can irritate, or if you can "shine" it through an aperture, from another room as per a cinema, or you can house it in a sound-proof box, hanging froma bracket on the ceiling.

Just try to get the highest contrast ratio for your money.

I purchease a philips 42inch LCD 6000:1 ratio and was'nt happy with the picture at all, so I took it back

Hey we just got ourselves a toshiba 37 and its fkin sweeet its got digital tv which gives a really good quality for normal tv channels plus freeview channels. its got 2 hdmi ports they will be use full in future most tvs have one and the 360 looks sweeeet on it. also i have a relative at empire electronics and he said they have had the least amount of returns with that Toshiba

slightly incorrect.....
According to what plasma/tvvideo/homecinema etc etc

The best plasma at this time are made by pioneer and panasonic. panasonic have come leaps and bounds with their new sets and apparently are on par with the pioneer.

The best LCD isnt made by smasung........Philips set is the best followed by sony/panasonic

these are all according to lab tests conducted in the magazines....also you need to bare in mind that this is dependent on size and model. just because the philips has the best 40+ set doesnt mean its 37 or 32 is any good..........the best 40+ LCD is philips followed very closely by Sony, BUT then if you go into specialist gear where price is NO object then none of these are the best.......

If your going to shell out that kind of money get one of those magazines and then go audition 1 (johnlewis is a good place if you have a big department store) then make your decision.

As Daz says these are a good starter..however i dont think the samsung is on par with the panasonic or the tosh or the sony bravia range.........the other manufacturers tech has moved on a lot quicker than samsung........but who knows this amy change if Samsung bring out another line of lcd's

out of the above the panasonic is probably better, as the tosh is an older model i think the 68' model has preceeded the 66'
