ntl box?

the start of my estate is getting dug up
and last night one of these got stuck not a dozen houses away from me
its a bit dark but just wondering if its ntl or bt box.(we dont have ntl here)
the reason i ask is house was built in the sticks 10 years ago i think and im miles from exchange and my internet is pathetic.

My Bro has got BB only from Vermin mate, his phone is BT and his tv is with Sly so shoud be no problem

Sure can mate. VM 'like' you to take a phone line too, usually works out cheaper. I've got them for BB & phone + Sky half-price deal for TV.

Was reading through a guide and a few forum posts on moneysavingexpert.com about how to try and get better deals out of Vermin and Sky... Good read for anyone interested... I read on there that for Virgin if you call 150 frmo your Virgin landline you get through to the UK call centre (not Indian) and get through faster!

Before you do anything mate take a walk down in daylight.. The grey cover at the front of it.. look at it to see if it is marked BT or Cable.

just asked the guys digging and shit
they said its virgin media.

You could be talking months mate. Maybe even up to a year. When I used to install it a few years back, from digging up to going live was usually a year. All does depend on how far away the closest live area is. If the streets near you have cable then it wont take too long.

The box does look like cable but it looks more like a DSA, which supplies the smaller CSA's with power. The CSA is where they connect your house to. But then saying that its not unknown for them to put CSA's in DSA cases. lol.
