help please flashing ambit 250

the tcp/ip settings for network card that new modem is linked to, i have put the ip addy and gateway addy to the ones you suggested but do i also have to put in the DNS server ip addy's that are for n*l ie 194.168.8.100 and 194.168.4.100
and did it work if it did great but u dont need to to put anything in the server also try 192 168 100 2 in the ip address

well tried rebooting pc, tried a different ip addy 192.168.100.2 and still the same, is it safe to try flashed modem in my normal network ethernet connection

it is giving it 192.168.100.10

i thought i was not to connect a hacked modem to this as cc already have mac address of it and they would see a different modem on it
i didnt see this post ur not going online with the modem ur just setting it up and when ur finish u can spoof nic use ur onboard see if it helps

thanks for all your help so far gentlex but i will have to call it a night as i am back up in 5 hours for work tomorrow (full shift too not just lunch time) so i will give it a go when i get in from work tomorrow. if i havn't smashed it off a wall before then...lol... trust me to tell them to cancel me BB at the end of the month all because they would not give me any discounts anymore on it, they wanted the full £34.99 for 10meg.... looks like i may just have to bite the bullit and tell them just to put me on the 2 meg till i try and get this working.

yes

also just tried it on my onboard ethernet connection and getting the same thing no difference even rebooted pc but still getting this page cannot be displayed error
did u dis able the other card and r u using the 192 addy also reboot the modem and if none of that dont work try cmd again type telnet 192.168.100.1 and see what comes up

alright m8 dont give up we'll get it done

I did one of these for my m8 last night and had much the same problem as you,
I couldnt connect to 192.168.100.1 and couldnt connect to the modem using
the 250 configuration tool either,
when I rebooted the modem it would connect for a very short while then nothing again, I was getting the limited or no connection warning ,
It was really doing my head in cause I new I had done it right, as a last resort
I connected it to my other PC downstairs and it kicked in first time,
connected upstairs again and nothing, I then unsmacked the card ,still the same ,
then smacked it again and its now working ok,

Anyway my point is try it on another PC it actually might be ok,
and if you havent got it, get the 250 configuration tool installed it makes changing
all your modem settings a dawdle

just in from work and decidet to try it on my lappy got in first time!!!!
now i am at the part where i have to enter my usb mac address. sorry for being stupid but is this the mac address of the modem?
