The analogy of the discussions on the satellite & cable sections and saying things that are mistaken is a very good one, but the best lesson we should all take from that situation is that everything moves on and everyone has to adjust to the new age.
We may have liked the old Bakelite Telephone with the old dial and connecting through the operator, but other than for memory or ornamentation it is a useless piece of machinery and we have embraced Mobiles and Tablets and Skype and we will embrace whatever else supercedes those.
We all need to accept that everything has to move on or at least adapt to be in line with modern life.

It’s all very well accepting everything and moving on, but these people won’t settle for what they have now. They want all of the land of Canaan as it was promised to them (so they think) by God in the Old Testament.

I believe Caliphate is Fardh (obligatory) in Islam.

It is mentioned twice in the Koran as Khalifa, one instance is in The Cow [2:30] (a Medinan Surah):

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."

The last Caliphate was demolished by the Turks and with the help of the British around the First World War, but I still don’t see where they say they want to take over the world.
