Can some one help me out abit just got the xda orbit on o2, and would like to put tomtom on it, can someone please tell me how to do it and what tomtom to put on it as i have been trying for two weeks now and i still can't do it.

Thanks

I've got the same phone as you and was just about to ask the exact
same question,

I think you just install the tomtom cab file to your phone,
then put your maps and stuff on the root of you memory
card the way you do with the symbian phones,

I cant try it cause I'm still waiting for my memory card to
arrive,
but any feedback on the subject would be nice

The latest one I think is 6.032

Thanks Devilfish , one last question

are all maps the same
IE will maps intended for symbian phones work ok for pda phones

I would try them but as I said I'm still waiting for memory card

That's because it doesn't have a GPS signal.

It should say...

No GPS device
Waiting for a valid GPS signal....

Then when it connects, the colours will come up.

If you're using a bluetooth GPS receiver, select 'Other Bluletooth GPS Receiver' in the GPS Config settings.

If you're using the built-in GPS device, select 'Other NMEA GPS Receiver' > 4800 > COM4.

Have you done what devilfish said in the above post ? your gps device isn't being recognised

Mine is set to 4800 and works fine.

All the guides and websites I found said 4800.

andywhitt2, is it saying 'No GPS device' or ' Waiting for a valid GPS signal....'???

If it's no gps device then it's not finding the internal or external gps receiver, the settings must be wrong. If it's the second one, it has found the gps receiver but not a signal. Take a wonder outside and see if it connects lol. Or leave it sitting on the window ledge and go make a cuppa ;)

Haven't got the Artemis to hand (orbit, etc), but the Trinity (M700, etc) shows waiting for......if other bluetooth receiver is selected. On a virgin install (for me) this is the default setting.

Can drive you mad when 1st installing Tomtom, etc. Once you have got everything working you will wonder why you had any problems at all

My memory card finally arrived ,

I installed tomtom and its up and running fine

it connects to the orbit via the default settings

which are com4, baud rate 4800, and manage gps automatically ticked

P.O.I go in the maps folder
as do the speed cams,

I read that you put the voices in the tomtom folder,
but this wouldnt work for me,

I put the voices in the voices folder on the storage card
works fine
