hi, my son is using my laptop to link his xbox to live. is there something else he can use, cheaper than the adaptor. i want my lappy back..!!

Get a cheap old wireless router and set it to be an access point to connect to your existing wireless router. It's how I do it and very easy to do.

Homeplugs was the way I wanted to go but they were too expensive. You can get a set for a lot less now though, around the £30 mark.

have you got an old linksys router?

i flashed mine with dd wrt and that has an option to turn it into an access point so it connects wirelessly to my main router and i just run an ethernet from the linksys to the xbox :)

Good call james

here's a list of compatible routers for dd-wrt, it really is awesome once flashed to a router....
