Hi guys,
got myselfa DSi XL.
what card do i get and from where?
just want to play games really,
not interested in homebrew etc.

Thanks,
Crazy.

where did you get the xl mate, as iv been toying with the idea of 1 myself, and how much you pay as im always looking for a bargain but couldnt really see any cheaper than £139.99

think id be going with the acecard 2i mate, every1 seems to recommend them these days over the r4 and the likes, but this thread will help me too as i was gunna ask the same question!

buy an acecard2i m8...
i normally buy from priceangels, but they are sold out at the moment.

bought a couple from here the other week , just arrived today...

cards are ok, bit pricey though....

just got the last DSi XL from john lewis in trafford centre at 109.99
bahahahah

paid £154 quid for dsi xl from toyrus i think... :(

it is the red super mario one right enough....

thanks for the recommendations.
how is the Acekard superior to something like the R4i?
i bought one some time ago for my neice for like a fiver and it has been working since.

all the kids are interested in is playing games.
nothing more really.

Thanks again.

the acecard is better supported.
i.e. firmware updated regularly.

nowadays ninty fight back and newer games have constantly changing anti-piracy features.

the firmware for the acecard (unofficial akaio firmware) gets updated all the time.

r4i cards are murder because there must be over 50 diffrent versions with diffrent firmware.

also acecards have a fully updatable kernal which means when ninty update the firmware on the dsi's themselves...
acecareds can release patches to get by it.....

as has been done twice in the past with the 1.4 and 1.4.1 dsi's.

r4i golds are supposed to do this, but last ones didnt work when 1.4.1 was released

I see,
thanks for the info buddy.

wheres the cheapest place to get this card?

no problem m8,

cheapest place ive found is price-angels, they'll deliver one for just under a tenner.
i had a look on there earlier, they seem to be out of stock at the moment.....

you'll be able to spend a few quid on one anyway....
seeing as you got a bargain with the console.....:lol::lol:

if you want a future proof card with better features than the acekard
go for the supercard dstwo

there should be support being added soon for psp games

i got one before christmas to try and the slow mo feature is good and also the software seem a little quicker than my acekard

yes m8,
that is the right card.
plays almost every game on any current dslite/dsi console.....

I just got an XL for xmas with brain traiing... I think my wife is trying to tell me something.
To the point... Can someone (crazyfool again maybe) PM me and explain to me what I can do with this card when bought as i'm a newbie to all consoles.
Also what is homebrewing, I've done searches but NO definitions come up?

thx

yes m8,
if you are in a hurry..
this company deliver from jersey....
they have diffrent options for delivery, but you should have your card in three days... :)

they are a bit on the pricey side, i bought a couple just bfore xmass as i need them quickly...

tbh.

apart from the price, service was excellent...
all cards came 1.4.1 compatible...... :)

expensive acecard.. :)
