Can anyone tell me whether this card will fit into a low profile PCI slot?

No mate, they are full height and length is 20cm from bracket.

Do you know of any low profile dvd-c cards?

Not off hand, but someone posted info on a USB one a couple of weeks ago but not sure if it was here or TechWatch, could you not get a PCI Riser and have the card horizantal or is their no room for it that way?

I may be able to use a riser card, but then I would have to open case to attach/detach cable.

I've read about firewire receivers too, but can't seem to find one.

I've found this one USB receiver and unless anyone tells me it's not compatible with media portal, i'll order it tomorrow.

I guess I'll chuck my twinhan one on ebay when it arrive.

Think your on about FloppyDTV, that is firewire and can fit in a floppy drive bay

dont know anythign about that technotrend, however regarding firewire dvb-c the firedtv-c is a completely external firewire dvb-c tuner with CI slot - bit pricey but nice bit of kit if your numbers come up
