ok mate i struggled big time doing mine its so confusing so here goes ill make it as easy as poss for you and youll get the most possible out of your 910!!!
ill also at end put link to all files youll need
youll end up with navcore Navcore.8.412.1236.rev1.1 with map
Installation :
1- Save the contents (wole of hard drive) in a safe place on your pc (is that just copy from 910 & paste somewhere on my PC?)
2- Clear all the contents of your GO910 and do a quick reformat # (Do you do that via My Computer? If so, Fat16 or Fat32, or doesn't it matter?)
3-install the folder ASR (20450368 bytes) to the root of your GO910
4-Install the folder LoquendoTTS (downloaded) to the root of your GO910
its in the folder SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack
5-From the saved copy of your TomTom(before you formatted) : in the folder LoquendoTTS make a copy folders Dutch, EnglishGb, EnglishUs, French, German, Italian, PortuguesePt, Spanish (Are these all the languages?) then paste them inside the folder LoquendoTTS (that you just put into the tomtom root) on your GO910. Close the folder LoquendoTTS (Presumably the LoquendoTTS folder I would have just installed on the GO 910?)
6-Open the folder : SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack (downloaded)
7-Install SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack contents of the folder to the root of your GO910 (presumably you mean straight onto the 910 (this is what you mean by "root") - not in another folder already on the 910?)
8-from your 910 hard drive root delete the folders Navcore.8.412.1236@ tomtom.com, Outsourced.8412 and the file system 5.5128
9-on your tomtom 910 hard drive root unzip the folder switchfiles.zip (which will be in the Navcore Basicpack folder already on the 910?), open the folder swichfiles, open the folder Config, copy the files setconfig.txt, version.txt and paste them in the root of your GO910 (again, straight onto the main 910 drive, not into another folder?)
10.-open the file setconfig.txt, and delete everything , now copy and paste the following 2 lines and save and close the file setconfig.txt
i have my name on there you can wright what ever you like in stead of martin
runclean
changedtext:TomTom GO 910 LIVE martin (Do I type them exactly like this, on separate lines?)
11-from the tomtom root delete the folders switchfiles.zip and switchfiles
12-Open the folder : SE_ttsystem.8.412.1236.rev1.1 (downloaded) and Copy the file ttsystem and paste it in the root of your GO910
13-copy the file suspend.ogg (downloaded) in the root of your GO910
14- Add the folders and files you want from your backup :
- Folders : art, audiobooks, contacts, ephem, helpme, itn, mp3, photos, raster, sounds, zip ... (Any others - sorry, until I copy the files from the TT I don't know what will be there)
- Files : antitheftw.bmp, autorun.inf, splashw.bmp, suspendw.bmp, tomtom.ico ... (Any others?)
installing the map (ill give a link for you) Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_825_2157 is the one youwant its same map as 159 version but asr and alg works (159 you wont get neither) (( i also had to put guam map folder from my backup back onto the root of the tomtom 910 so i could select the uk map))
1-Install the folder of your map (downloaded) to the root of your GO910
2-place the folder Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher (downloaded) to your pc (that's PC, not the TomTom?) main hard drive and open it
3-Double click on : RunMeforAllAutomatic.cmd select option 1 and then option 1 again if asked imput yourtomtom drives letter (from 'My Computer'?) and your unique tomtom id (Presumably I get this from TT Home?).(sometimes it finds both itself) once complete it will ask you to pres any key and the keygen will close
4-safely disconect (this bit I'm never sure about - I did it wrong the other day and it locked up completely - thought I'd trashed it! How should I do this safely?) tomtom hardware from pc and then remove from cradle let it reboot by itself and Wait for the message ( about a minute ) on tom tom screen in top right corner Create ttgo.bak ("Create ttgo.bak" will be the message I shall wait for?).
5- make your settins and then Switch off and then turn on the GO910 to properly save the configuration

The euphoria of your post is still with me:thumbsup: but can I just clarify some of the points above? My comments are in red (of course!). Sorry if some or all are obvious, but just want to make sure.
My main concern is completely stuffing up my 910, although I'm sure I won't. BUT presumably, if I copy the entire contents of my 910 over to my PC, then if anything does go wrong I simply reformat the GO 910 again and copy the contents back onto it and it will fire up again as before?
Nothing else to do?
Thanks again for your post! You really ought to post your guide in its own thread. At first I thought "Oh crap, that looks confusing" but when you actually read through it, it's rather straight forward (except for the few items above, but then that's probably me being a bit dim!).
