just got one withancient maps and no cameras can any one give me a push in the right direction as its all a bit baffling with different versions etc etc...

what do i need to make it as good as it can be?

i see this navcore but havnt got a clue what it is etc lol

If you let us know what are the application version, map version, etc.. we will be able to help you a bit more. Novecore is a version of tomtom application created by others (not tomtom) to make it easier to pach while using maps downloaded off web (I think).

Just read the sticky threads and search net for tutorials.

Hi,

Just install tomtom home and connect you tomtom to your PC and update your application to latest one. (just click update my device)

Latest uk map at the moment is 825.2159, download this and replace it with your current map. then use "yDGpatch" to patch your system file.

Remember to back up your system before anything so you have a working files if thing didn't work.

I'm a newbie and have a few questions and hope somebody can help out?

I've spent the last couple of hours reading up about all of this, but have to admit that I am still very confused as to what can be done and how you go about doing it!

I have a TT GO 910, with UK, European and USA maps. I believe that it's possible to update this to the 930 (or even 940?) version of TT, but can anybody confirm if that is the case?

I've seen lots of posts where all sorts of TTs can be updated, along with other brand SatNavs, but can anybody help out a thickie here and advise what version of Navcore and which versions of maps I will need for my TT 910?

Also, how do I find out the current version details of my 910 i.e., maps version, firmware version etc.?

yes with latest maps you can also make your tt910 emulate a 930 or even 940 depending what navcore you use.

Do you know where I can get the files to make my 910 into a 930 (or even a 940)? Anything else I need?

159 map wont give you advance lane guidance or speech imput mate

ok mate i struggled big time doing mine its so confusing so here goes ill make it as easy as poss for you and youll get the most possible out of your 910!!!

ill also at end put link to all files youll need

youll end up with navcore Navcore.8.412.1236.rev1.1 with map

Installation :
1- Save the contents (wole of hard drive) in a safe place on your pc

2- Clear all the contents of your GO910 and do a quick reformat #

3-install the folder ASR (20450368 bytes) to the root of your GO910

4-Install the folder LoquendoTTS (downloaded) to the root of your GO910
its in the folder SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack

5-From the saved copy of your TomTom(before you formatted) : in the folder LoquendoTTS make a copy folders Dutch, EnglishGb, EnglishUs, French, German, Italian, PortuguesePt, Spanish then paste them inside the folder LoquendoTTS (that you just put into the tomtom root) on your GO910. Close the folder LoquendoTTS

6-Open the folder : SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack (downloaded)

7-Install SE_Navcore.8.412.1236.Basicpack contents of the folder to the root of your GO910

8-from your 910 hard drive root delete the folders Navcore.8.412.1236@ tomtom.com, Outsourced.8412 and the file system5.5128

9-on your tomtom 910 hard drive root unzip the folder switchfiles.zip, open the folder swichfiles, open the folder Config, copy the files setconfig.txt, version.txt and paste them in the root of your GO910

10.-open the file setconfig.txt, and delete everything , now copy and paste the following 2 lines and save and close the file setconfig.txt

installing the map (ill give a link for you) Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_825_2157 is the one youwant its same map as 159 version but asr and alg works (159 you wont get neither) (( i also had to put guam map folder from my backup back onto the root of the tomtom 910 so i could select the uk map))

5- make your settins and then Switch off and then turn on the GO910 to properly save the configuration

thats it basically done if you want to add speed cameras ive included the latet ones out there .
and heres how on the 910 incase your unsure

JUST DO THE ABOVE FOR EACH CONTRY YOU WANT THE CAMERA FOR YOU CAN DO THEM ALL AT ONCE BUT IT GETS A BIT MESSY AND CONFUSING

also noticed your struggling to find your device id so hit your tomtom screen
and goto in menu - press show version and it says device AA1AA AAAA2 (or whtever your device id is) think it page 5 of 8 in the menu

if not hit the screen along bottom on the time onthe right it says version ... press that top row is your device id

WOW! And I mean WOW!! What a post!!

I started reading it and then thought (as you do) that I'd better, in the meantime, start downloading the files. However, I keep trying to on the link given and although the page comes up and the download link then appears, it doesn't do anything else but come back to the same page with the same download link again?

Is it me? Am I doing something wrong again!!

Looks like you will need to shorten the file names of most of these, but not sure what you would do with the other ones ("The system cannot find the path specified" and "The filename or extension is too long".
