timer and auto timer

hiya, ive just started using the new vix image for the vu duo, ive noticed while i have been using the record functions on it, there is 2 sorts of timers for recording, i just wondered what the difference was if any, i just use the timer but if i go to plugins it says auto timer, and underneath it says edit timers and scan for new events, does that mean its abit like a series link and scans the epg or not, not 100% sure what the difference is ? thanks

I'm not using the vix image yet but i think it does have a series link on it

yeah it does wrk like a series link, really loving this vix image now,
