Service plus - I assume it's not coming back

people on here keep telling you buy a c line its the way to go ,even though you bought that box so you didn,t need a cline,

I totally agree but as we said there is quite a bit opening with Service+ still and the quality is top notch if we start using lines and cards now your box will not become obselete in 12 months when without doubt your subscription to Service+ will expire

by that time you would of learnt enough and made all the mistakes possible to become an expert at this satellite thing and u will forget what service+ was

To oversimplify a bit, my car is out of petrol should I just leave it or get some more petrol?

New Spiderbox owners have a right to feel hard done by but, simply complaining WONT get us anywhere or anymore channels to watch. The Spiderbox hardware wise is still a very good HD receiver capable of doing far more than most new owners realise and this is why I and other's are suggesting that members take a look at getting a line.
Installing a line is so simple ANYONE can do it in a few minutes just using the remote control.
For members interested in going down this route then there's plenty of help available right here on the forum.

Now about the loss of Service+, yes it's annoying and you have lost channels (although some have returned) we just have to wait and see, there's nothing we can do to speed the process.
I can only repeat moaning about the situation is a "do nothing" approach it gets us nowhere, if you really have to then there is a thread opened by digiduge, just post your complaint there.
When your ready to explore what your Spiderbox CAN do then we can help you get back ALL you've lost and MORE.
You wont be disappointed.

For those that feel the need to complain here is the thread for it, when you get it off your chest and want to take a look at the Spiderbox capabilities then please get back and see just what is possible https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/261908/

Hi All Newbie here, Only recently joined the forum when happened to see JimiH was here and must say he is one helpfull person never saw anyone as helpfull as JimiH is. Now getting back to the point @ JimiH I think people are not complaining but all they want is an update and some honesty and I dont think its too much to ask for after all they have spent their hard earned money based on what it was said on the 'TIN'. Now I know darkman also promised everything from Neuvo will be transfered to service+ by latest 15 Sept 2010 now you tell me if that actually happened. The answer to that is NO. Boxer26 claims things get done alot slower in South East Asia now that to me is an insult to the Asains I lived in South East Asia for more then 30 years and I know how quickly things get done there, infact even quicker if you its in Japan or Korea now to blame it on the recent events in Japan as an excuse not getting the server up and running quicker is another insult to the Asains. Has the car industry in Japan stop producing cars becuase of the recent events in Japan? When I lost my Neuvo in Sept I knew weve lost those channels and it was never going to come back and it will be the same with service+ I hope I am wrong but after almost 2 months I doubt that very
much. Like the saying goes 'You can fool some people some time but you cannot fool everyone all the time'. The only way forward is to forget about service+ and use clines as its extremely easy and user friendly with the spiderbox. Sorry JimiH I am not having a moan at you but just stating my 2 pence worth.

When i bought mine i had just lost free sky from viagra box(u know the one i mean)
I had never even contemplated connecting a sat box to the internet let alone what a cline was
Nethertheless (which ive just spelt incorrectly i think) it has opened my eyes on what is availible out there and i as am sure other more experienced users alike am learning everyday

Most peoples main 'issue' with what has happened is down to a few things

a receiver without the 'service+' feature, but capable of all the same functions, some with more functions, can be bought for less

The fact that there is more misinformation than actual facts about what has happened, and why

and the main thing, is that the service+ WAS the main selling feature of this box.

I put a nationwide trade only seller in touch with the main spiderbox supplier a while back, and they sold loads. As soon as service+ went down, the sales stopped, dead.

yes it can use a C: line, as long as the server itself is 'spider firendly', but for most people, the only way to actually get a c line is to spend even more money, and fund the main thing thats bringing the whole hobby down, commercial cardservers

yes, it is a tidy bit of kit, and i still say the remote (of the 9000) is the best bundled remote ive ever come across, but, for the same money, you could buy a cheaper receiver capable of the same thing, a kameleon programmable touchscreen remote, and a few months of server access

i think the main issue has been the 'web' of confusion spun around the service+ feature since it ended, and this is what most people solely bought it for

Couldn't have put this better myself. A very precise description of the whole affair.

i think you are spot on with that post digi put a lot better than what i was trying to post the other day.
on ref to that post @jimi hendrix my post wasn't meant to have a dig at you if it came across like that i appologise as i know you do your best here for the members who have probs with there spiderboxes and in my opinion offer a better approach then the other admin/mods on the proper support forums where you also reside.
and like myself you give people pointers in the direction of where to go for extras.
and we know as soon as you get info from the powers that be you will pass the info on to us here .
i think the main problem lies with the lack of information and communication from the main source which we know you have no control over.
so have a virtual beer on me

just read these interesting posts, how do i go about getting a line, please advise

thx in advance

you will have to some googling and forum searching you will not get this info in open forum
lines are not free
you have options either club together with some mates and buy a proper sub and split the costs between you or you go down the payserver route allways have a test and try and keep to the 3 month rule costs will be from about £10 a month to £25 a month depending on what you want and the quality you get remember the more you pay in advance the more you could loose if payserver gets busted does a runner or gets really bad
i will send you a pm with some forum names to google out the rest is down to you
