i've tried ucode 001a . will try the other two when I get home from work tonight and feedback tomorrow. As I said Mrdontay. When I had the picture it was excellent and channel changing was also very smooth

Wowser!
I really can't express how good the picture quality is with this image. It looks just so good on my big LCD - no other SD sources look this good.
Only a few issues:
The network settings on the box are behaving strangely. Using identical setting as before, it will no longer find my router - BUT the web service works fine.
I can seem to get into the ftp - but nothing is there. Has the user/pass changed for this image?
Will have a play with it tomorrow or over the weekend and get back with any progress.

Hi,
Not an expert but maybe I can give some assistance.
The FTP issue is actually good because it suggests you box is on the network. Confirm that the box is on the net by typing ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx at the command prompt of your pc, note replace xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with the ipaddress of your box.
So if the box is on the net, and I suspect it is from what you describe, maybe you have not set a remote directory and you are ending in the /root folder. You can just select .. and get back to the top level / and from there see what you need. Or set the remote dir in you FTP client to / and reconnect.
As for your router I have made the mistake of setting my broadcast address to be the same as the default gatway and this has similar affect to the ones you described. Don't know enough about networks to tell you why but when I changes broadcast from 192.168.1.254 to 192.168.1.255 it started to work. Those numbers are based on my network you can get most of the correct values by running ipconfig /all at a command on a pc connected to your network.

All sorted now. Image works a treat. Picture quality is great. Quickchannel changing. Keep up the good work Mr Dontay

It's now been 3 days since I put the image on. Works great to a point. Sometime a channel will freeze but if I change the channel it goes back to normal. I have also had to reboot the box once a day due to Channels blacking out and dbox freeezing up. Any help would be appreciated.

although ...newcam and evocam freeze a lot (even when change ucode)

Was having a few problems however persevered, I experienced no channels on one of my two machines sagem 2x and was freezing/ dropping channels when I got a screen. the other unit a nokia 2x was ok apart from occasional freeze ups the picture clarity was just right, after numerous atempts with the sagem 2x I realised what I was doing wrong I had flashed both boxes one after the other, then done a scan at the same time in separate rooms. The sagem locked up when both units were on at the same time I checked the IP address on both units and they were identical, after changing and saving and full UK scans they are now ok. Like to thank you for an excellent program and in hindsight I learned a lot and got my dusty brain working.

My setup = Nokia Dbox2 , no hdd, 90% of the time no network.
This image is fast, clean and to the point, its a no frills package just your basic needs but pulled off to perfection. I installed this and was amazed by the speed of the menu's and channel switching, after 2 days this image hasnt crashed and im not getting any problems with the volume bar as others have reported. The fast scan worked a treat, simple to use and very fast. If you want a good reliable no frills image then this is the best, it is 5 times better then commando for my needs (being speed, looks (the commando "whats on" bar looks crap with that decoding thing), picture quality).
How this image can be improved:
1 Very simple fix, change your splash screen!!(if thats the term used in dbox's) the picture looks nice, the "The" looks nice but did you change the font because the rest hurt my eyes, and maybe remove the red from it, make it a black and white image.
All in all i found one tiny little thing i didnt like that i can change myself (i might make one to shut myself up) and i give this image a 9.5/10 as it is perfect for my current setup. the .5 because the image looked very tacky (sorry got to make this fault look big as its the only one i have)

Mr Don quick question as you may have read i have been monkeying about with the settings and after changing the keys the image is perfect again but for some reason by OK button now seems to switch between TV and radio a double click of ok brings the TV menu up but would rather it went to the way it originally was any ideas?
well i have been using the image for about a week now and the only fault i can find is it keeps freezing on the non fta channels to which i have now discovered it may not be the image..
so except for the freezing 1st class with good quality..

i dumped in new cams and keys and works perfect now.

I decided to go back to The Dons Specialist image and no freezing so far but I also have lost quality, I knew that would happen but it is still a good image and if a fix comes along then I will revert back to newest Dons image.

I did try other keys but I think they were older image keys and lost a bit of quality so decided to just go to Dons Specialist again.
I have a question for Mr Dontay or anyone that knows the answer. The fonts were to big for me so I changed them as I usually do to suit me, but lately when I change them in the infobar I seem to mess it up big time and the info is partly over the time at the left hand side....does that make sense. Anyway without having to reflash eveytime i mess it up, is there any other way to get it back as when I go to reset defaults and save settings it is back to big size but still the info is on top of the time. I must have changed something else ?
I tried deleting Nuetrino.conf but it had no affect, dont even no if it should have though, I just tried to see if it would fix it.

nah...mine is still freezing big time...even with different keys.
i am annoyed because the pic quality on lcd tv is the best out there.

Just won another devotee from Team Commando’s work, the Don V4 image looks great and the speed of operation really makes a difference to the user experience. Only been flashed for a few minutes and like everything right now really.
Had a problem with fast scan though, it crashed lower half of the background satellite image, immediately stating that no services were found, erasing the services that I had (with “leave current” selected). The slow scan (fast scan = off) worked just fine.
