Been having multiple problems and one of the problems i told them about in february, well went back today about all my problems, well what a waste of my time!

1) MAY have shin splints, all they have said is take a month out of footy, did that and today they say you can play again but if it starts hurting again you must rest a couple of weeks and go play again. why havnt i had an x-ray to see the real problem? this has been over a year now! they havnt even give me any advise on what to do aprt from take ibuprofen

2) in february i went in net, dived for the ball and landed on one of my fingers and bent it right back, still hurts today and some days im in so much pain i cant bend it. they told me today that i should wait another month and if it still hurts to go back. i told them its been hurting everyday since february, they just replied, come back next month!

3)cant straighten my arm fully without my elbow hurting. Sorta ressolved this, well not really but actually went for an x-ray with this and they cant find anything, also did physio before the x ray for a couple month and they couldnt find nowt either. the x-ray confirmed it wasnt my bone.they didnt explain any excersises to try and stop the pain. they didnt even say what it could be, trapped nerve, ligament etc!

anyway big ol' rant because they are a fookin joke and always just say take paracetemol or come back next month. i might go back with my arm hanging off and they'll still say "if it hasnt fell off in a month, come back"

got my piss boiling this has!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

count slowly to 10, then scream your head off. :)

have you thought about joining bupa or some other medical club some prices can be quite reasonable about 7 pound a month.that way you can get a personal physio or someone who specialises in your sort of problem.

That's what they say isn't it hospitals are for emergencies like if your finger is hanging off by it's skin or worse still and doctors are for the little things from allergic reactions, breakouts and things of that nature....besides doctors can get you great drugs....

I remember this time last year when I pulled a muscle in my rib....nothing I could do about it, but went to the docs and he prescribed me a massive box of double strength ibuprofen - great stuff not that I used that many but if anyone's ever had a pulled rib muscle you'll know how painful it can be and that you basically have to relearn how to breathe for a fortnight or so lol. I guess that's the point that non emergencies are mostly curable by a visit to the doctor, even if they can be ignorant pains in the asses sometimes....

Am glad you posted this fella as ma family have been having a shit time recently and a was convinced that all doctors had turned into fannys theses days.
Ma dad had knee problems and after two visits and a near fall down the stairs his stupid doctor finally reffered him to a specialist.

Ma sister was left for weeks with a bad cold that produced an infected cough and on a Sunday afternoon i had to take her to casualty and the doctor there gave her high powered antibiotics and asked her why she didn't tell her doctor that she needed them!!!
**** me a thought that was the doctors job..
When she went back to her own doctor he told her to stop taking them!!!
So why did the fookin hospital doctor issue them in the first place??
She stopped taking them and her condition got worse, her synesis got blocked and she ended up with inner ear problems that her doctor said was unrelated to her original cold.
No suprise that she finally snapped and told her doctor that he was a cretin and reported the clown.

I hate going to the doctors but recently i had no choice and tbh i will be happy if i never see another fookin doctor again!!
They also keep reffering me to an asthma clinic every 6 months that i can't figure out.!
Last time i went ther the lady said my asthma was well in check and asked why i had been sent here!!
I told her i had no feckin idea as i havent had an asthma attack for 20yrs ,,she then said my lungs were above average condition for my age and that there is no reason for me to attend.
Hey presto a got a letter last month telling me to attend,,i ignored it and when i ordered my repeat prescription i get a phone call from the health centre and the woman said if i don't attend the clinic they will not issue any more inhalers!!
WTF is that all about!,, would you deny a diabetic his insulin?
I told her that if she denies me my inhalers and i take an asthma attack i will hold her personally responsible and i asked for her name.
When i reported it to the clinic the doctor was furious and told me that she would be disciplined.

I have no idea mate what is going on with the NHS at the moment but i do know that a stern attitude and a threat to report your doctor goes a long way at the moment..
Next time you go if he breaks out a jar of leeches, run for the hills or your nearest health board to report him..

My nephew suffers with shin splints and has been told to stop playing lacrosse. The england coach and physio said to ignore his doctor they don't know sh*t.
Insist on being referred. It could be soemthing worse and it could also be helped with the correct physio and other treatments.
see attached website for info.
I try not to go to the doctors. Most of the crap they come out with is common sense. But I would rather have them there than not.

Some doctors are just tw@ts, simple as , they think they are gods and have an extremely high opinion of themselves. Seriously, just ask to be referred or to see another doctor.

i`ll tell you a story.

a friend of mines rung me up (this was a good few years back) asking if his bro could come up to see me about fixing something or other for him, so yeah no probs, anyway his bro duly turned up, at this time we lived in a flat so there was a big flight of stairs which he made his way up slowy.
Anyway gets to my workroom and i take one look at him and he looks like death, so i ask him "have a few too many beers last night etc etc" and hes say, nah mate, you wouldnt believe me if i told you", so of course i ask him to tell me, and he explains that a number of years previous he started getting chest infection like symptoms, genrally run down, bad cough etc etc, repeatedly went to his family doctor , only to be told its just a chest infection , or a cold, or flu, this went on a few years with him steadily getting worse, and the doctor telling him different stuff, he even seen another doctor at the same surgery, only to be told, take these pills put your feet up, you`ll be fine etc etc.

anyway onetime hes gotten significantly worse, goes back to doctors, ends up seeing a locum (stand-in doctor), locum takes one look at him, rushes him to hosptial where his innitial diagnosis of TB (tubercerlosis) is confirmed.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

They then told him that basically his heart and lungs where fooked and he was promptly put on the transplant waiting list, for a double lung and heart transplant.......

he eventually did get the transplant, but died shortly afterwards

needless to say if the doctor had actually done his job and diagnosed him quickly he would of survived with literally no negative health affects.

get refferred if you need to, its your life, not theres.

i remember fecking my back up about 8 yrs ago after lifting washing machines up for a living

i was in bed for 4 weeks on 8 ibruprofen a day

got constant nerve pain left leg and numbness in foot

went back to docs a yr later and said physio - they did FA

went back last yr and they said the injury is too old and it is permanent

WTF

dont even bother going to GP if u got mental health problems lol

these feckers get paid footballers wages but do nothing but say it is in your head

well thats nothing mate.
you r lucky if u r less than 60years old, talking a doc friend of mine works in local hospital and he says if you r over 60 years according to bean counters its not cost effective to give expensive medicine to some 1 whos only got 5 years of work left in them.

stuff em all

I must be lucky, my Doc is top notch, and does what's needed, when needed. Issues me all the expensive things I need without question. TBH, I really can't fault the local NHS. I ring up, say I need this, that, or the other, and it's done ready for me to collect or the appointment is arranged.

I'm supposed to go up'lundin for "specialist treatment" but have always found my local care to be far superior than that mob in London, and my local consultants and Docs have never let me down.

Mind you, I'm a rare one, I know this much. ;)

Firstly i suffer with shin splint regulary mate due to years and years of football and rugby league and can tell you one thing.

i went to a private specialist paid the eath and this bloke new his stuff he used to treat the footballers n rugby players from all of the north west.

Once you have shin splints they never go away, they can just be as bad as a fracture of the lower leg when severe.

I got told to check ur footwear ensure you are using proper well made trainers not flat soled shit etc.

when playing ie footie slightly wrap ur shins ion a cold compress to reduce any swelling which may start.

when finished apply ice packs.

but the main thing was if u ever feel them (like pins being inserted) stop immediatly.

it will always be there mate, some people dont suffer as much as others so just take care as you carnt go on ebay for another leg u only get 1

mr p

it's not doctors - it's GP's. once they settle into that easy life of dispensing pills for old dears they forget all their training. anything even vaguely serious and they 'refer' you.

occasionally, you'll get a good one.

there are ppl out there with a lot more serious things wrong with them
and they are the one's who appreshate the doctors

they seem to hurt ten mins into a game but get serious around the 40 minute mark, then i just stroll around the pitch rather than sprinting down the wing all game
