Firstly 1.18 is old, the latest version is 1.20b patched, but if your getting the problem of the box not clearing chans going from FTA to encrypted, there isnt anything you can do, its either a tuner or chip fault, the box needs to go back, read back on the thread, there seems to be a batch of these with this issue, even on the 150 version also

regarding encrypting thats sound like the cline is not clearing the chans, but either way, with the issue above, its either send it back or use it as FTA box as it will have you drove up the wall

Cheers Mickah - can live with problem 1. For problem 2, the channel stays decrypted when you watch it and there's no problem at all. The decrypted channel only encrypts after 5 or 10 mins in Record mode. In fact, in some recordings it last only a few seconds. Other times it can last 10 mins or more.

Will go to 1.20 to see if it fixes problem 2. I think I'll live with problem 1. Will let you know how it goes.

take it is still doing the same thing? I have seen more of these boxs doing it (not clearing chans afterbeen on FTA for 10 mins or more) in fact tested 2 new ones and each one done the same!!! but what I am also seeing is a varied amount of different issues, lip sync issues on some box, freezing on others, restarts required, now and next missing on chans, the box freezing up when you use some of the internet apps, recording issues, have to say, I would not recommend them, there is to many variables and various issues with them, the firmware for them, CCAM and Newcamd are old versions in them, CCAM is practically useless on them, but, works on some boxs and not others, even though its the same firmware being used!, so that tells you a lot about the box or the quailty of them

I guess so but it dosent bother me to much coz I just watch football and I dont watch TV at all - so Im not usually switching etween TA and Scrambled.

Anyway, Ive uploaded the new patch but Im not able to get my line anymore - but the internet is connected when I did a PING and the weather and Uporn etc are working again.

When I uploaded the new patch via USB I clicked on Allcode+bootloader - is this correct?

I need your help please - I tried installing the new firmware (for hours) last night and I cant get it to work. Im not sure what Im doing wrong. In the list below, have I got everything in the correct order:

1. Put .abs file on memory stick;
2. Put memory stick in STB and update by USB;
3. Update under Allcode+bootloader
4. The STB updates and then reboots
5. When the STB reboots, do a Factory Reset
6. STB reboots again
7. Then go into my network setting and enter my providers url, my username and password etc
8. Then scan back in my sats.

Well thats what Im doing and its not working - the server is Pinging and all but I cant connect

Im using newcamdclient if this has anything to do with it.

Being trying again - now the box is not even Pinging - dont know what Im doing wromg - I also have the Ariva 120 and is working grand

Can anyone tell me if the new patch worked 4 them?

Tried 1.20 and Record problem I had goes away. The FTA problem still exists but no surprise at that. Really like GRxxVEShxxxx functionality. Thks again to Mickah for support.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me. I have an ariva 250 but I'm having problems with the c line or logging in to be more specific. I put all my line details into ccam but it continuously gives me login failure. It's the very odd time I get a login success- and when I switch the box off and back on it won't automatically reconnect.
I'm using the latest firmware that's out but have used the older one up to now and got on great ( with a different box however)

Hi Bee,

When I upgraded to the 1.20.b version, I spent about 6 hours on a Friday night trying to get it to work and failed.

I tried again the next morning and it worked.

Ive got no idea if I was doing something wrong or what but at least its working for me again.

The only thing that I did, that may or may not have effected it is, I unplugged all my other internet connected devices eg PS3, TV, Homeplugs etc etc so that the ARIVA was the only thing connected to the net.

BTW the consensus here is that an nline is better than a cline.

Yes Iba sometimes it connects for me and sometimes it doesn't. I reckon you were doing nothing wrong. I have another ariva 250 working perfectly on 1.19 so I'd like to try that version out on this new box. Would you happen to have a link to the previous version. I deleted mine. I also find that Groveshank ( the music player) dosen't work properly, and You Porn dosen't work either on this version 1.20.

How was your ariva doing on the last patch 1.19?

Is there no link on the previous pages? If not I think I found it on a web site called sat-universe (I think) - perhaps google 1.19 patched or something - Im in work now and cant look up these sites.

Groveshack and YouPorn did not work on the last version for me, but they do work on the latest version (1.20.b) - well at least they did the day I installed the new version but I have not checked since.

Hi Iba,

The latest firmware is 1.20B6 and the last I had was actually 1.20B1 not 1.19 as I had said, sorry. So Im goin to try find version 1.20B1 on my laptop and flash it and see will that fix my system. To be honest Im not finding it a major problem but it just wont connect/login sometimes and only sometimes... normally it does, but i need it to do it all the time cos the box is not for me, I'll keep you posted!
