I have faulty dreambox800 se
The probem is:

I installed diffeferent images , boots fine but when i go tunner to set it up

It says tuner A (empty)
Did anyone have this problem before ?

sounds like the ssl file what one did you flash on before the image

I flashed ssl 84b then i installed latest opnpli

try 84a mate see if sorts it

i did try with 84a and 82 but all in vain . what are the chances of the tuner being faulty and need replacing ?

any idea where to get cheap sattelite tuner .

could also be motherboard fault mate rather than tuner

try a few other images like dreamelite or nemesis

it is a common problem loader/image issue mostly

Did you get the Alps tuner or the other one ?

I'd try the easy option first & try removing & re-seating the tuner incase it's come loose (I've had that one myself on the normal 800).

Did you try flashing the ssl again after the image but before reboot?

follow what wiz 569 says.I flashed loads of images alot had an empty tuner..was not until i flashed ssl then image then ssl AGAIN did everything work..no more empty tuners

thank you all for the quick replies

i have tried different images , reseated the tuner and even loaded ssl after i rebooted.

the dmbox works just as it should apard from when i go to set up the tuner

it shows tuner A ( empty) and doest let me do anything at all

i am clueless. i must i mention i bought it off ebay as a good working order as decribed

but when i turned it on there was this tuner problem. then i tried all other images with right ssl but no joy

what you suggest i should do

common problem no power to tuner

as you got from fleabay my guess is that confirms it

has it ever worked?

you need to flash all three without a reboot one after the other.then pull out the power for a few seconds and then turn on.All should be good.

why not just flash patched image if not original dm see if that helps

i have downloaded ssl there nfi , bin and ipk
i guess it is nfi i have to install through internet explorer

Are you installing the correct image for a clone ? You will get this error when installing dm800se firmware on a clone version of the se. Could try open the box and if it says sunray you have the clone se.
Plenty of images available for that box and it is quite good.
