change itunes as default media player

hi guys,i have a solo2 stb,which i can stream from.
The problem is i recently synced my ipad with itunes,now when i try to stream to pc
instead of vlc picking up the stream and playing it,itunes picks it up and will not play it.
I have looked at setting etc,but can not seem to change things.
Any info would be gratefully received.

Easiest way is via the Open with... option when you [right click] on a file.

To do it en masse, you need to open VLC > [Ctrl]+[P] > Interface > Set up associations. Then tick the file extensions you want VLC to be the default player for.

Yes........
