NB As hinted at above this is a read only drive for both blu-ray and DVD formats...

If you want a combo drive with DVD writing look at the Pioneer BDC-S02.
If you invested in HD-DVD and want this additional playback feature look at the LG GGC-H20L.
If you want a BD writer look at the LG GGW-H20L

awesome! so tempting! although i have a question, my monitor is vga only, would i still be able to watch a blu ray disc? or would hdcp ruin everything? im not sure how hdcp affects pc's
 
as tempting as it is wait a few more months and blue ray writers will be that much

no it will still play, just won't be HD quality without a HD monitor/graphics card.
