yeah remember that mod a year or 2 ago m8 ...im sure you had to take the wire off vcc and reconnect back to pad 11 ...when you had to put new mac back in

Not really .. it will only stop attacks based on writing to the modem.
There is PLENTY they could do without changing the modem
Locking MAC to UBR
Blacklisting LAN MAC address
Updating firmware on LEGAL modems and making changes required
BPI+

yes but I connected it to the 3.3v feed from the voltage reg , pin 37 connects to that anyway

But watch when you lift pin 11 up and not to snap it off the cmos chip .

Also watch not to short our any pins when de-soldering pin11 .

I have an old 120 SOMEWHERE with the same mod on it but cant find it. I'm sure that there was a track you could cut instead of lifting pin, wondering if we could do the same with the 250?

Ambit TSOPs No-update MOD

cheers mate and good work, i remember there being a similar tric for the ambit 100/120 but if i recall corrctly you dont need to remove the pin just connect a wire to it

here you go guy's this must be the mod your on about, and i think it was for the a200 aswell,
thinking about it i cant see why you could'nt use this mod on all the 29LV160 ambit TSOPs

But the problem with this mod was that they wouldn't allow modems access to the cable network if the firmware wasn't current.

From what I remember the hack worked for a month or two before they 'scrambled' the update files on the servers and cut access to the modem with old FW.

They did this to allow low usage customers enough time for the modem to update.

I presume any customers after the 2 month 'leniancy' period was sent out new modems when they complained.

that would be great mate. all my stuff is in a box up in loft inc, my willem, test meters etc etc but the loft is full of boxes and i'm go

• 2 my test 250 using the pin 11 thing
• 3 SB5100 sigma
• 4 dreambox

Adams is woring for me 100 % (dam fine work Adam )
