Motorcyclists overtaking on blind corners!

I don't mind them killing themselves when they do this, it's a good example of Darwinian natural selection. I just feel sorry for those they leave behind.

Double solid white lines do not mean "No overtaking"
IT actually means that you may not cross them.
However i was in london the other day and i must say they are totally nuts there, they are nipping in and out at a higher speed than i will ever do. takes one toswiftly try to change lanes and hes gone.

Even running close to white line can be dangerous.
I loose track of the times ive had to slam on my brakes in my lorry when some moron biker in the middle of the road.
Clue to bike riders. Lorries are wide. If the road is narrow (sometimes it is unavoidable lorries driving down these roads. If we need to deliver to a small village we have to , before anyone says we should not be on these roads) and u are in the middle of the road u are going to die.

I see two sides to this. When I'm in my car I see lots of bikers riding like absolute a**holes. When I'm riding my bike I see lots of car drivers driving like absolute a**holes. I've come to the conclusion that most people in cars/bikes/lorries are just dangerous idiots. This is why I drive at 30mph in 30mph zones. It really p*sses them off

He never called all bikers morons. Just the ones that are reckless going up the middle of the road.
I haven't got any problems with lorry drivers but I hate bikers behind or in front of me. They've got a habit of coming out of nowhere, sitting in my blind spot and passing my car with only inches to spare when there's another car coming the opposite direction.

Same can be said for inconsiderate car drivers that pass bikes giving them next to zero room, and drivers who pull out in front of oncoming bikes and cause serious accidents on a very regular basis.
So when it comes to a who kills more senario the car driver is the cause of a hell of a lot more deaths than bikers(who normally just kill themselves) lol

Not all bikers just the ones that ride the white line when a lorry is coming the other way

I wount get so defensive m8. We are not saying that all bike riders are the same. What we are moaning about is idiots that give other bike riders a bad name.
A few years back I was driving my car down a back road in shropshire. I had a bike behind me riding sensibly. He had many opertunities to pass me but never bothered. 2 more bikers came shooting up behind both of us and overtook round a blind bend. The biker behind me gave them a w**ker hand signal as they past us both.

If you want to see nutters overtaking on blind corners you need only look on the A75 any night of the week when the ferry kicks it load out !! lol

Funnily enough ive seen a lot of cars do this as well.
Not too many lorries tho. at 56 MPH we not get much opertunity. (except royal mail 7 1/2's that is)
Must get me an unrestricted puddle jumper. OH what it'd be like to go into lane 3 on the motorway again.

I can't say I've seen many, if any, motorcyclists being overtaken except those on mopeds and they should be expecting to be overtaken if they're on a main road.
Another thing motorcyclists should be prepared for is an oncoming car overtaking. A motorcycle isn't as visible as a car in all conditions and at the pace a lot of motorcyclists ride at, it can be very difficult to judge their speed too going to pull out to overtake. On the other hand, if the motorcyclist is going at no more than the speed limit and the car overtaking is pulling out way too late, then yeah ok, that is the car driver's fault entirely.
It's quite easy to say that car drivers are responsible for a lot more deaths on the road. Quite simply because there's a lot more of them! But when it comes to the percentage of road deaths each year, the ratio is much higher. In Lincolnshire last year, 27% of road fatalities were involving a motorcycle. That's quite a large amount seeings motorcyclists only make up 2% of road users!

Yep it'll only work once tho. I think it the same fuse as the tacho. My boss might notice and inquire y i have done it manually.

That might be the case Kris but about 90-95% of that 27% are the bikers themselves not other road users !! lol

Never said they were causing the death of other road users. A death is a death. Can you honestly tell me every motorcyclist you see drives sensibly? Putting someone on something that powerful can be a bad idea when they're not sensible about it. A guy I worked with was straight out after passing his test on an R6 hitting speeds of 150 on public roads with his biker buddies.
Fair do's I do still see a lot of sensible motorcyclists that ride smoothly with the flow of traffic but there's still a lot that are determined to pass everything in front of them.

Well as far as I am concerned your mate out of work was/is not licensed to drive a R6 capable doing a 150 as riders that pass a test must wait for 2 years to ride more powerfull machines or pass an extra test if 21yrs old.

as long as your over 21 and pass on a 36kw bike you can ride anything
