Allot of old forums - whats everyone's take on moving the site forward?

Hi All,
Thought I would put it out there, we still have an amazing following even though forums in general are not the goto place anymore.
13,000+ visits daily
Must be all those amazing posts I have wrote lol, Joking ha ha!!!
I don't want to start moving things and upsetting the masses, but we need to look at the size of the place lol.
Maybe we can bring areas together. Maybe we can do other things or new ideas...
Would love to hear your suggestions as I am getting old in the tooth and fresh prospective would be great. And who knows better than you the members!

I get the forum list underneath that, but I know that I haven't joined any rooms. I don't need a fecking message to tell me.

Maybe home automation would be a great place to put some knowledge too? IFTTT and the new buzz word IOT (internet of things)is a big thing and if anyone was an expert then that would be a plus in my book as its an emerging market. IFTTT does require a little knowledge of coding, maybe not much but it can still be tricky for the non pc literate.
I can now play my music library via plex and that gets around the amazon storage being discontinued - being able to play my own music within my own network is massive imo
Also i think server stuff like freenas could be expanded on as its a viable alternative to a premium NAS

The Co-op nara? oh how very la de dah. What's wrong with good old AldiI always thought we were more Co-op than Warburtons.
100% Agree @Rat I think the forum is more than just tech and other areas of interest need to be maintained or developed not closed off. Just my opinion. Not sure what way the forum leaders want to go with the forum as this thread gives mixed signalsIf the forum was full blown tech might as well shut the place now as there isn't enough interest in tech alone
So out of all the room that are not tech related you close 2 sticky threads, wrong call imo
If you don't like what you read don't enter the area

Many active posters are there? Can you tell.
The tech side seems to be dying on every forum i have a rummage around on. I blame this on people wanting quick fixes for their favorite subject matter.
For a big chunk of DW members its TV and IPTV is the latest quick fix. Long gone our the days of season interfaces and the like, not many on here have full blown sat system with motorized dishes or bother using keys. Once setup on IPTV the simplistic natural for-fills their needs. Its not even worth posting firmware for the like of mag boxes etc as once setup people prefer to leave alone.
The game console side was once absolutely buzzing on DW has dropped off even though there are still exploits out there but its not discussed.
So yeah im in agreement we do need general discussion type areas on DW, we have some great characters posting in these areas and there always worth a good read and these characters are the heart and sole at the moment and well done to you.
Agree with Mick it would be great to do a few things a in a good way and with IPTV been the latest alot of us are in to this is one of those sections that needs us to be good.
So ladies and gentlemen its your forum what would you like to see in that section ?

Do any of you members see a need to trim down the satellite sections as its popularity is on the decline ? Its a huge section getting used less and less so if we could simplify keeping content its maybe the way to go.
