Anyone got the Chinese VU+ Solo2

Luck of the drawer I'm afraid. I tend to change out my box yearly and never had been stung until I ordered my solo2 clone last year. The worst thing is you only realise after you've had the box for a week or 2 as the bill for me arrived after the box. I got stung for around £18 but I rang them up and told them that I'd pay the duty but not their administration charge.
Same here.I have also been stung for duty it was £18 for DHL and £23 for Fedex
Yeah just unlucky I guess,they actually sent a text to my home phone with the request for £13 ( to ensure delivery was not delayed ).
Have heard of others getting these charges so wasn't a complete surprise.
The estimated delivery is Friday which is pretty quick.

Mine was declared the same but had a value of $50 which is probably why I got stung.
Image is fine just do not update..

There is a new one, 153, which I've been using for over a week without a problem. You can get this from download section of this forum.
The next build is due at weekend/early next week but there have been major code changes so restore of settings is not recommended for this new build.
The new drivers in this forthcoming build have already been patched by sunray support team and I will use them in the next build.
Just a heads up that the Vix Apollo image is due to be decommissioned and replaced with a new image (name to be confirmed). That again will require a fresh install and settings restore is not recommended.
I think I'm going to hold off and stick with Apollo 152 until the new image range gets released. Assuming we are talking weeks and not months for the new Vix image range

To those ordering boxes from China, remember it's cheaper to go direct to the company rather than purchasing via AliExpress / Alibaba.
Getting a reliable direct company and contact can be the hard part.
I've been using the same company for the past 4 years but sadly stung with DHL customs charge each time since my second order (max £10, usually £4-£8). Once "caught" I think you get added to a courier/customs watch list. I just look forward to the text message to pay so I know it's on the way!

I've found it's generally same price or cheaper when buying via aliexpress/alibaba.
Not sure what problems you are having with EPG? Configuring it? Or how to get it on screen using remote (press EPG)?
First two Sunray Solo2 orders came with dodgy remotes. Last order in December, the remote works perfectly. I have since ordered a number of replacement remotes from my usual contact in China and all work ok.
Any new boxes with dodgy remotes will likely be old stock.
There is also a new upgrade Sunray Solo2 remote but I dont like it. Prefer the traditional Vu+ remote.
I have a UK seller with the vu solo2 Sunray clone box,new type of remote and exchangeable flash chip
For £155.00 more or less with next day delivery..a little more than buying from China but a lot less hassle plus a UK contact should you encounter problems...
Correct I have just got myself a genuine solo2 box for under £200..as you say it's not worth the hassle with a clone at that price..
Mind you Sunray are slightly better off than the lourison or dragonworth boxes but to save £50 not worth it in the long run..
Its not a traditional VU remote it's a SUNRAY remote with no EPG button, had to remap the buttons to enable the EPG.
Mine cost £120 unlucky to get hit with an extra £13 still only £133.

They have v3s in stock with new remote but there not posting these on there page yet there trying to clearout v2s first but i seen there ad on another sellers site.
So if members are getting a box make sure you ask for v3s and tell them you seen there ad so you don,t get done by theses as they will try to push out v2s first.
