Havent opened it but through the vents their all green , if I get a chance later I'll take a closer look,

yeah thanks matey, i got a feeling it's DOA as they are all red, just thought i'd ask as not sure with LED's on motherboards, some times they can be red and some times they can be green.

cheers

i would check the tuner m8 as in mine when you tighten the f connector on the box right up there is a metal shielding cover that nearly touches on the main chip on the tuner.
discovered that when i was getting some funny signal changes but suspect it the cable to my motor as the box signals were great from my fixed dish

Sorry its not to clear , but you can see it has both red and green LED's , what exactly is happening with it, is it totally dead ?
have you tried another Power supply ?

Thanks bud, so there's red LED's as well on your working one, it's a friends box mate so i think with it being brand new he's just going to send it back, i was just wondering if they should be green...thanks for the pic though. i'll let him know.

Does he get anything at all on the display when its booting , have you tried using a mini usb cable and the sunray flash utility

Just got mine delivered today, stuck the dreamboxuk 1.1 image on it & so far so good, inline amp as been removed and all hd channels are working without a single glitch so far.

Just an update, Tried to install a 500GB hdd but it would not initialize (possibly something i was doing but not had time to work it out yet) installed my old 320Gb 2.5" drive from my dm800 and it works great. ftp'd XviD & x264 to the hdd & they are working fine. not tried any videos with dts as i noticed in another thread that they are not working yet.

500GB drives should work fine, I have a Samsung SpinPoint 500GB drive in my'n. The DTS issue is something to do with plugins. DTS is working on NewNigma, iCVS and some other images by installing the relevant plugins and libraries. I havent managed to get it working on PLI based images however. I might try some of the new images with latest drivers like iCVS or DMM 2.0 (DreamElite) and have a play with the DTS plugins again.

Managed to get the 500GB drive working, but i had to format it to ext3 in gparted, install it in the box, then ftp to it and place a /movie folder on the drive. It just would not work for me when using the box to initialize. The 320GB worked straight away.
I look forward to seeing how you get one with the new images.

Managed to get my nas mounted to the dm800se & it's playing xvid & x264 flawlessly. Very impressed with this box. Thanks for all the tips in this and other threads gsmtech.

No worries, glad to help. Was the NAS fairly easy to get mounted ? I have a HP Proliant Micrserver on my home network I use for NAS with AMAHI Home Server on it where I store my music and movies etc.. I need to get this mounted to my 800SE then the old XBOX1 with XBMC I use as a media player can be made redundant !

Was easy m8, took 5 minutes
I ftp'd into the dm800se & created a folder under /media called nas (you may not need to do that, it's just something i always do to keep things organised)

setup/system/network/Mount Manager (tried it by scanning for shares but that didn't work properly for me)

Active: enabled
Local share name: (call it whatever you want to)
Mount Type: CIFS Share
Server ip: you'll know yours
Server Share: Videos (whatever folder your sharing on your nas)
use as HDD replacement: no
Mount options: rw
username: (your nas account details)
Password: (same as above)

Works great.
