They sent me the no email m8 saying my roof is not suitable!? more like they are trying to pull in paying customers offering the odd free install to keep in line with their promises.

Doubt they can say your roof is not suitable and then get you to pay for one mate. Chances of it being a con are slim as the BBC has covered it and Focus has already posted saying he got the go-a-head email...

My roof is no different to the one in the bbc video and one side is south facing so you would think it would be perfect.

Well, by rights, they could get into a lot of trouble using your details for anything other than the free panel scheme, unless you tick something to say you want to be contacted by them or third parties.

Following our advice to you that your roof appears as if it may be suitable for our free solar panel system, under normal circumstances we would have contacted you by now to arrange an appointment for a surveyor to come and physically survey your property. However, following appearances on BBC's Working Lunch and BBC's Look North we have been flooded with applications in the thousands. This does not mean that we can't deal with the applications, it simply means that it is taking us longer than normal. We haven't forgotten you, you haven't lost your place in the queue and your patience is much appreciated. We have recruited extra surveyors to deal with the extra work and we are hoping to have contacted all of you by the end of next week to arrange an appointment, but please don't worry if you haven't been contacted by then. hmm not sure m8 really, because i suppose i thought nothing would come of it so never really took any notice when i filled in the form, but i would think it was less than 3 weeks ago

Lol i thought they looked on google earth first? Did they try to sell you anything?

no they didnt try to sell me anything, yes they do look on google earth that tells them that the roof is facing in the right direction then the surveyor calls to check size of the area to fit the panels and the structure of the roof, the panels are 1.5m x 0.8m and they you have to have 18 panels fitted for optimum performance which will give you 3.3kw when running full speed.

**** me, thats a big roof you would need, no wonder not many of us are suitable

Surveyor took my roof measurements but did say it might be too small. They need 24 square metres and obviously that has to fit with the panel dimensions. Now I have to wait & see. I reckon it'll be tight.
