I have a 500s all set up the way i want it, all channels sorted etc, when i first installed there where lots of channels missing i guess from the defaukt transponders the receiver looks for but i've updated these manualy so all set up now.

What i want to do is take every setting out of this receiver and clone it to another but having problems if finding what to do, is there a full back up that can be done and transfered to another receiver.??

Use Dream Control Centre to back up the img ...

Then flash the img to 2nd 500s...

simple as that.

@manx

Cheers, would that be the on the setting tab ? , if so with all the restore options to i check all options ?
Additionally after i have a back up, when i install the 2nd receiver do i go through the normal setup first , ie set pal, english, choose sat and lnb and then scan ?

Click on tools

then

back up system

then

back up img

@manx

sorry was reading another thread

Cheers again, but when i choose those options the "BACKUP" box doesnt highlight in order for me to click it ( see attached )

Have you tried it via Telnet before? Follow below:

To backup and flash an image using Telnet

Back Up Exisiting Image First

To telnet, click START > RUN then cmd and press ok or enter
A command window will appear, type telnet 192.168.***.***
* = ip of the box then press enter remeber there is a space between telnet and the ip
now enter username root and password dreambox.

To backup an image using Telnet

* Telnet to the box and paste the following command:

cat /dev/mtd/3 > /tmp/backup.img

* FTP to the box and navigate to the /tmp
* Here you will find the backup.img file. Copy it to your PC.

Flashing Via Telnet

This method will only work with a .img image file.

* Rename the image file to backup.img
* FTP the image file to the /tmp folder on the dreambox
* Telnet to your box and paste the following command:

cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

for me its not worked ... however it may be me as i don't telnet very often as i don't have the need.

Am going to be at this all night now ... until its sussed lol

@manx

Tried that myself but never used telnet before so no idea what i was doing :( , on another note i believe i will have to get my 2nd receiver back to the basic image before i flashed darkstar is that correct ?

Any other way to do a full backup without using dream control center or telnet ?

iv always used FlashWizord pro to make backups and flash mate i only use DreamUP when i have to as it takes longer

click on "Install a firmware into FLASH memory" and you will see "flash image backup" click on that to do a backup then reflash the image to other box where you see "Drag&Drop a fle here" . need to setup your settings first

Program here
