Which PS3?

With the release of the PS4 just around the corner, I'm thinking about purchasing a PS3 second hand as I'm guessing prices will drop. I can't stand the look of the new 'top mount' model so looks like s/h is the way to go. Am I best going for a slim or the very first model? Which is the most reliable?

I'd go for a slim, as some of the first fat models had issues with overheating. Also when buying second hand I would only go for one which has the warranty seal intact as it means that it has not been opened.

Stay away from the Phats as there suffer from over heating and drive related faults.
The new super slim looks and feels cheap.But it does the job.
I got hold of a 12 gig version for £130 and put in a 500 gig hard drive.
