what am i doing wrong

I have harddrive(maxtor)and network adaptor card but can't get it to commincate with computer.i have set ip adress to 192.168.1.111 subnet is 255.255.255.0 when i lauch the HDL_Dump click attach button should connect to ps2 but instead i get this message
A SOCKET OPERATION WAS ATTEMPTED TO AN UNREACHABLE HOST
anybody got any ideas?

Youve set the ip on the ps2 or your pc?

set id on computer as instructed from instrutions from HDAvance 3.0

I've only had a quick look on google but you need hdl_dump server running on the ps2 to make it work. I found the elf file on this site http://www.exploitstation.com/index.php?page=elfs
Not sure how to launch the elf file but a bit of searching on google and you should find out how

Thanks for replying m8.i have that already runing on the ps2 with same ip address but i have noticed the light on the network card is not on yet when i go into network card properties it says it runing ok no conflicts and i as sure it is crossover network cable came with network adaptor.so im still banging head on wall on this one.

I dont think the cable that comes with the network adaptor is a crossover cable. Its got to be a normal patch cable as this is what most people would need to to connect to the net. Id try with another crossover cable mate
