Well just got my USB JTAG to day but need some help i car't find any tut's or files to get this working

and i'm pretty sure he would be able to put you on the right track.

See the pic below, you should still get something even if the modem is not functioning. (If you've not unplugged your modem yet then don't just to be safe)



If you have unplugged your modem it may be possible to revive it still with options 26 or 27

Use DETECT to detect the flash type

Close the software and disconnect the JTAG from the PC.

Then re-connect the JTAG and re-open the software and type the number 26 into the box you typed menu in previously. Now you need to select a full 2MB dump and the modem should get revived.

but when i got the the modem and type detect i get 000

there nothink

Trust me m8, option 26 will poke several memory locations to 'wake' your flash up. You will then have to select a 2MB flash to dump onto it and it will then be revived.

You can't have bricked the modem too bad from what you said in your PM so this should get it back again.

yes mate

its flashed ok but not its fu8ked

It will go though it auto and prompt you for what flash you want to use....

Do you have a standard blackcat cable, connect that to it and see if any luck detecting it that way. If you can just write a bootloader to it then reconnect to USB

Click on the 5100 testing next to tools at the top of the window, then choose MAC info etc to see if you get a readout. If you do the modem is not dead.

I can't see why it's not flashing.....

Other option is standard blackcat cable to restore the bootloader like I suggested above.

And yet another option is, if you have another 5100 with the same flash chip use USB to detect the flash, then when it prompts you for the flash you want to use swap it over to the modem your having probs with before selecting the flash and pressing enter.

look like the usb still car't be the old time thing's

There usually pretty good at reviving bricked modems. Hope you have better luck with your next flash

If it bricks it again I would be suspicious of a faulty USB JTAG.....

and seam's good
