My experience with motors is brush issues generally fail again. It sounds like one brush has stuck in the chute. If you’ve freed it and it’s springing in and out with a bit of tension then it should be fine. If it’s sticky then it will fail once it wears on the comutator

Hi guys lovely day..thought I'd cut the grass..lawnmower stopped working again..noticed both carbon brushes were pushed out..pushed them back in..started mowing..again lawnmower stopped, brushes came out again this time noticed smoke coming from the motor...think the motors knackered

Get one of them apparently they are brushless ones lol.
