gigablue 800ue image with terminal installed help.

got a gigablue model 800ue for the life of me cant get an image with terminal installed or even in extensions.
tried several atv images but no terminal for openwebif.
be obliged if someone can help driving me mad.

I can not see how openwebif would not be installed.

So you can not reach the openwebif via the box IP address is that what your saying ?

yes can get openwebif ok but need to get terminal on it.

usualy you can go into extensions and install it but no images seem to have it now.

If openwebif-terminal is not available in the extension is suspect OpenATV removed it maybe not compatible with PY3 images, i know a lot of groups removed it for the feeds.

Can you not just use putty on a PC like most of us do ?

You could try this command from putty and see if it will install terminal on the image

opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif-terminal

couldnt find anything to satisfy enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif-terminal.

What did you use to run that command?
Surely you can continue to use the same function?

BTW, I think package is called shellinaweb.

tried putty + tried telnet
also checked for shellbox no luck.

Putty will do the same thing as terminal for openwebif and is more reliable. Anyway, I made a mistake on the name. You need to run following command to install it

opkg install shellinabox

This is what I got

same for shellinabox maybe just working on 4k boxes. ?

Which image are you using? Version and date please.

What is result of "opkg update"
What is result of "opkg install shellinabox"

tried so many images.
image installed at the moment vix kernel 3.1.1 version 3 2012-08-14
opkg install cmd cannot install package shellinabox.

You were meant to post the output you get so we can see the error. And you still have not posted the version of image you are using. Talking about past does not help, we can only deal with what you have now.

Anyway, the plugin servers for older images on ViX were deleted. This is probably why you cannot install anything from the servers. If you had posted output/details, a more definite reason could be given.

Please flash ATV 7.3 from last night and check again. It should be pre-installed anyway.

thanks lads downloaded and installed atv 7.3 but terminal nor shellinabox came pre installed but
managed to use putty to install it manualy using
opkg install enigma2-plugin-extensions-openwebif-terminal
so that was good.
only problem now is it wont connect to dcc tried changing password with putty says it was succesfull
but wont connect so got to try and fix that problem.

Try using FileZilla to transfer files.
