Transferring From HDD

Hey guys
What's the quickest/fastest way to transfer my recordings from my hdd to laptop/ext hdd
could be around 300GB (3D Movies)

I just plug in HDD to laptop and drag it to a folder in pc, around 6-7mbs, or filezilla around 3-5mbs (hardwired) wireless will be a bit longer

stick them all in a master folder on the hdd then drag and drop to source. (just before bedtime) then when you get up all done Time is irrelevant when your in the land of nod lol

I wasnt sure if there was some super duper plugin out there that would do it in 5 minutes lol

Started the transfer
what are these files and are they necessary to ftp back to the new HDD?

I would imagine they hold programme/recording info ?
