Stage 1 of New Shed...

hmmm I might have a problem. Just got in from work and went inside the shed, firstly the right hand side of the floor was damp. I dunno if some 1 had spilled something yesterday evening or because of the overnight rain fall.

Secondly the corner's of the shed roof, should they be covered so no timber is shown or they can be left open?
Builder said its fine to leave open as its timber?

Finally there are some puddles on the roof of the shed.
As I do night shifts, im really tired and after seeing this im kinda of pissed off now.
I've tried calling the builder but hes phones are off - maybe as early in the morning but they are comming back on Sunday to do the flooring.

Ok confirmed with builder why the flooring was wet, apparantly they had levelled a bit more yesterday.
With the roof he said as its so bit you will find it to puddle for the next few days as the blackjack takes 48hours to settle. Im not sure if I should make him redo the roof or not. He again told us the gurantee word that if any problems, especially with the roof, they will come and sort it out at any stage/time.

well im no builder but i wouldn't be happy with the timbers showing at the corners, dont care what he says rain will get in and cause you problems in the furture.

Yup ill make him cover up the wood over the weekend and as for the puddling on the roof. How should I approach this?

I don't want to pour scorn over your excellent efforts but that is a very bad piece of roofing
It's not finished off and looks amateurish. Unprofessional.

Your always going to get standing water on a flat roof, bit late in the day now but I personnally would of made it slope

it is slopeing

looks a right cockup that roof m8 {surely it isnt finished yet}

well what do you suggest I do when I speak to the builder as I have a good relationship with the main guy and he has guranteed all hes work.
I want to get this sorted but what exactly needs to be done apart from the corners which hes commign to sort out on saturday.
For the roof, will it be a massive job to slope it at this late stage?

are you saying the roof isnt slopeing m8 ??????????it looks slopeing from your pics

It is slopeing but very slightly, not as much as it could/should of I guess.

personly, i would have gone for a fibreglass roof {looks a neater job}------"as you can see from my dogpen roof"

fook nose how they are going to sort yours m8

I am not sure, all I know blackjack was put on it.

Flat roofs only require a 2 inch slope in 10 feet

I would advise you to call a proper flat roofer to rectify the problems

Builders are not felt-fixers.

And I don't mean someone who says he 's a flat roofer, roof tiler, bricklayer etc.
Someone who says he is a flat roof specialist ONLY.

Well the main builder has said because of the size of the room and the black jack etc, it takes around 1-2 months for the roof to settle down. He has said wait a month and if its still a problem to call them back as by then it should be propper settled.
