@RAT did you get a chance to see starwars....i completly forgot and only saw the last 5 mins. But from what i saw it only looked like an upscaled broadcast.
Still not bad tho ....wish my TV could scale like that LOL, been contemplating an external scaler for a couple of months

It will be up scaled as when it was filmed there was no HD Camera's..... Even though it was shot in film the reproduction was done a good few years ago

HD cameras years ago isnt relevant because for many many years films have been recorded with 35mm film, a far better resolution than modern digital HD. Camera quality has improved over the years though, films are still recorded this way because HD digital cameras do not provide good enough quality for the source.
So its the down-conversion thats important, but I dont know if Star Wars is available in true HD conversion or if it was upscaled? Its awkward to know because its the re-mastered edition, so what resolution did they remaster at lol? Maybe someone else knows, but it seems bad if it was an upscaled movie (personally i dont think it was).

has anyone used the dolby digital soundtracks on the ITVHD channel. I find it somewhat thin/compressed. I found the pro-logic soundtrack a lot more dynamic. I was watching attack of the clones and whilst the picture was good, the soundtrack was a bit crap.

I agree the sound is not the best, and sometimes the picture is not the best. It also looked like there was some compression on the picture also during starwars on occasion or the picture was not interlaced very well.

I can honestly say I has no dodgy picture whatsoever
