I have a 1st edition Solo2 clone got it when they came out

I upgraded it a long time ago to v2 using RS232 cable that came with the box
Then i got the time bomb and paid for someone to replace the flash chip
I have never touched it since in fear

But now im wanting to install some of the latest images.
I tried the v3 upgrade using the same rs232 cable that came with the box but all i get on the dos screen is "starting download....." and then nothing else

Do i have to upgrade it again to a v2 1st before the v3 works?
Im told in order to install the v4 upgrade i have to install the v3 1st

Hi I think you would be better off doing it the way you suggested..
It will be the best way to go..V1-v2-v3-v4...it's less likely to go wrong this way..a pain yes but the safest.

Be aware the V4 update has caused some people tuner issues.

It works for some not for others.
