Got a tut that says you can whatever with a serial cable.
Found photo of where to solder the 4 connection ,but when i boot up the modem in hyper terminal all i get is:

Piggyback LZMA decompression 1.0.2

Detected LZMA compressed image... decompressing...
Target Address: 0x80010000
..............
Decompressed length: 3670193

3348
It says something about only for rev 3 or lower and that it tells you what rev you are on by the back of the PCB board. I could find anything.
On the modems internal web page it does say version 3??
Am i wasting my time.
I got a blackcat lite coming, but i would like it if i could do it this way and everyone could do it with what they got already.
well wot U recon?
