Hi Guys,

Can anyone help. I can log into my 250 via the web page with:

Login: Infinite
Password: SetValue

but I am unable to telnet into the router. I think, i may have changed the password and cant remember it! Doh!

So I thought I would go into the terminal and change it. So I logged in and typed the commands:

cd \cm_hal
scan_stop

but it wont work. So I tried a "p" on boot but that doesnt work either
OH NO!!

So I thought I have the "alex" firmware but it doesnt mention it.
Have I received a updated firmware? It looks very old to me? See below

Thanks,
Dom

I dont think you will be able to press P. wasnt that only for the factory firmware?

Hi zerofool2005,

Thanks for the reply
I thought you could press p for infinate too.

Thanks,
Dom

you can press 'p' on the infinite firmware, that's how you are able to re-flash them.
That's not taken the update by the looks of it.
You're not hooked up to a router are you?,if so try it without router...

Hi ukbob,

Thought it would take the "p".
poolfan seems to have had the same problem as me.

Might send him a PM and see if he solved the problem.

Thanks,
Dom

if u installed infinite stealth u wont have the proper bootloader m8

Thanks english,

Does that mean that I cant press the "p" option?

Thanks,
Dom

So I thought I would go into the terminal and change it. So I logged in and typed the commands
cd \cm_hal
scan_stop

but it wont work. So I tried a "p" on boot but that doesnt work either
OH NO!!!

if ur seeing this Enter '1', '2', or 'p' within 2 seconds or take default... then the problem is with ur max232...the rx and tx could be tthe wrong way round or is not making good contact on the pinout on the modem!!! also check the keyboard and make sure its not number locked and is functioning properly
. .

Im having the same problem as well. Its driving me nuts. The enter 1 2 or p prompt comes up as well but it wont let me select it. I changed the echo thingy and p appears now but it doesnt make any difference. I followed the cable on the haynes manual and it works ok- just no access to the menu.

Please help

i have the solution :)

are you lads struggling using a new motherboard with serial port? try going into my comp.properties and changing the bits per second etc. mine was set to 9600 by default instead of 115200, works now

If its infinite stealth then as mentioned your bootloader does not have the P option.

However I saw in your screen dump that the P option WAS there. That leads me to beleive thet max isnt working right.

And when I say that I mean anything from your com port right down to the connections on modem, check and check again. I had a 250 that messed me about for ages and one day it popped for me :)

I was about to describe wiring but Ive confused myself, but I dunno if it SHOULD matter but I ended up using ground nearest the LEDs

hi
i had same problem a while back and it was one of the setting in tut was wrong.
i will try and find but once i changed all was sweet.
maybe someone will know what i am refering to with this ?

hi
found problem with me (thanks to gentlex)

make sure u set the flow control to none and not harware in hyperterminal

Bits per second: 115200
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: None

hope this helps
cheers chronoman

Yeh can confirm that, there are some other tuts out there that tell you to use "none" as well, it was only when I used that it worked no problem :)
