Hi, when i connect the MAX 233 cable to the modem i can't seem to press the "p" in hyper terminal, it seems to be locked somehow. Below is the message i get:

An updated firmware was earlier released that changed the shell in certain modem firmware.

The shell was not totally removed but has limited functionality.

Maybe you can reflash your modems firmware.

look for my tutorial on modding the ambit to reflash with JTAG, if you dont feel upto it maybe you have a friend that can do it for you, either way you can get your modem back to how it was before the firmware update.

i still use solarwinds to reflash my modem. been on no probs for 2 months with no no upadte command or anything. am i just lucky??
