receive new card, edinburgh south, some channel gone, some are still there

sy movies channel down, but sy sports still on, strange? checked all other channels some on, some off as well.

any suggestion?

If you have put the new card in and a reset doesn't correct your loss of channels and you are subscribed to the missing channels then you need to phone Virgin Media and ask them to fix it. It usually just requires a hit sent to your box to resolve.
